Governor Abdullahi Ganduje announced the arrest of
the prime suspect in the blasphemy killing in Kano

– Ganduje gave the name of the suspect as Alhaji
Dauda and promised that justice would be done in the
case

– Speaking on behalf of the state government and
people of Kano, Ganduje promised to support the
bereaved family at the trying period

Abdullahi Ganduje, the governor of Kano state, has
announced the arrest of the prime suspect in the killing of a woman at Kofar Wambai market in Kano city.
Suspected hoodlums had killed Bridget Agbahime after
reportedly accusing her of blasphemy.

Speaking at the end of a stakeholders meeting in Kano,
Ganduje gave the name of the suspect as Alhaji Dauda and promised that justice would be done in the case.
According to a statement sent to Premium Times by Salihu Tanko Yakasai, the governor’s spokesperson, Ganduje commended security agencies for going after the perpetrators of the cruel act.
Prominent dignitaries and participants who attended the
meeting described the incident as illegal, unfortunate and regrettable.

Those at the meeting include Ransome Bello, the state
chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Mike Agbahime, the husband of the deceased, islamic scholars and security agencies.
In a six-point resolution read by Ganduje after the meeting, participants condoled the husband of the deceased, describing the killing of his wife as illegal and unacceptable.

He added that all the stakeholders should publicly
condemn the killing of the victim, all Islamic and Christian leaders should engage in public enlightenment of their followers to prevent recurrence of such atrocious crimes. Speaking on behalf of the state government and people of Kano, Ganduje promised to support the bereaved family at the trying period.

Also speaking, Bello noted that his association was fully
satisfied with the resolutions reached at the meeting.
“There is nothing better any person would expect more
than what you (the governor) have done tonight,” he said.
The CAN chairman called on the people to remain calm as the government already took steps to return peace to the state.

There will no peace in the North until Almajiri is totally scrapped. Those guys are demons roaming around to suck innocent blood all the name of ISLAM.

The Executive Governor of Kano, Emir Sanusi must parade all the demons that perpetrated the satanic act and kill them in the market square. Madam Bridget Agbahime, you were killed for no reason, May the wrath of Almighty Allah be upon every of your killer, they will never know peace.
Rest in Peace and I pray God comfort your husband and your family.

Meanwhile, the Northern Elites should educate their people, Islam means Peace, give them access to the true teaching of ISLAM. Enough of this barbaric act all the name of Islam, you people should stop killing for our Noble prophet " S.A.W " seek knowledge about Islam so you can defend ISLAM with your tongue not with Sword and axe.

We are Muslim and not Terrorist.

sad we are all humans and equal before our creator until human invented religion separated us with barbaric doctrines and teachings. I am a Christian because i was born and raised a Christian by Christian parents. You are Muslim because your parents and imams raised you to believe your religion is the gateway to salvation. We were never in control of whom we chose to worship nor where our faith lies. This separatist and discriminatory agendas has been blindly passed from generations to generations hereby making us intolerant of each other's religion and way of life.

We are Africans but colonialism and mental slavery made us loose our values, identities and traditions to fight over imported religion.

If these people could behead a woman over a Muhammad they never seen, imagine the ethnic cleansing that would follow if buhari was killed in ogoni.

Northern leaders need to sponsor massive re-orientation of their people. Teach them to appreciate the sanctity of life. May the soul of the woman RIP. #justice must prevail sad

Why is it so difficult to divide this country into 2 or 3? For God sake we can't be in the same country with these animals.

Believe me, thus country would have been divided a long time ago had oil been discovered in the north..... We are still chanting one Nigeria because the north knows a split will spell doom for them. Seems oil is our curse as a nation

If Buhari was not president, they wouldn't be doing this.
They feel emboldened.
Because these are the kinds of people that have supported him in the past, they feel emboldened,
believing that a Buhari presidency is some sort of validation of their criminal extreme leanings.

There is no other explanation in my view, for this increase in civil misbehaviour from Nigerians from the north.
Punishing these culprits to the fullest extent of the law is the only way to re-instruct their brains on the fact that their rights to kill collectively decide that anyone should die on account of a difference in religion has only been a figment of their imagination.

Surprised the culprit was even named judging from history... 2011 post-election and 1996 Akaluka but to mention a few come to mind.

Whether it be for justice sake or to placate the Igbo, nay the south in these trying times of oil sabotage to prevent tempers flaring and spilling over, the better.

Kudos to Gov Ganduje.
