Why should a section of country adopt a different law from others?

"The Nigerian constitution stipulates that we are Nigerians first and then Muslims (or Christians) second. However, some fanatic northern Nigerian elected officials are insisting that Muslims are Muslims first and Nigerians second and, therefore, are entitled to live by the sharia Islamic law. The contradiction is these elected officials were elected through a secular constitution that is the supreme legal document of the land. Each official swore to uphold the constitution. After being elected, some Muslim officials now want that constitution subordinate to sharia law. Proponents of sharia argue that the constitution guarantees freedom of religion while opponents argue that freedom of religion does not mean that Islam will be the state religion and take precedence over the constitution. When a northern Nigerian state adopts Islam as the state religion, it in fact puts the state above the nation and its constitution. In other words, "freedom of religion" does not entitle some northern states to create an Islamic state within the secular state of Nigeria. More specifically, the Nigerian constitution does not permit the adoption of Christianity or Islam as the state religion. " -EMEAGWALI

While the army targets those who have the right to protest, it has decided to leave the fulani herdsmen to continue their terrorism.
“This is a non-military issue that borders on law and order. It is not every security issue that you call in the military. It is the responsibility of the police to maintain peace. I believe that if we put the police in proper position in terms of discharging its functions, then there would be no need for military option. The police are equal to the task. If you have to deploy the army, then you are going above board (sic). In any case, I do not even have the power to deploy the military for anything. It is only when the situation gets out of hand that you invite the military”, he said.

Hausa-fulani/Muslim are first class citizens from all of the above.

I pray that one day we shall see the end of it.

For me as an individual, I'm tired of this union called Nigeria. Some persons feel they're above others, but GOD is above us all.
He will come to help His people out of this unnecessary bond.

The issue with sharia is just blown out of proportion.
The law setting up sharia even given the so-called Muslim to a right to choose under which law he wants to be tried.
Sharia can never supercede the law courts and it is not binding on people of other religious inclination.
And mind you, ever in sharia states, there are areas that sharia is not imposed so it allows for freedom of even the Muslim to be protected from sharia.
So stop making a mountain out of a mole.
