Would Adam Have Gone To Heaven If He Did Not Sin? by NLEFCC(m): 11:20pm On Jun 07, 2016
There is a popular belief that all good people go to heaven.
Well what does the bible reveal about this?

* Gen 1:26 Shows that Gods purpose for the earth was for Adam and Eve to give birth to perfect children to fill the earth (now one wonders if Gods purpose has changed?)

* Gen 2:16,17 reveals that death was to be punishment for disobedience, not a doorway to a better life in heaven.

Now why did God create the earth in the first place? The bible gives a clear reason.

* Isa 45:18 shows that the earth was not created in vain but to be inhabited. See quote "For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord ; and there is none else. KJV

Do all good people go to heaven?
You will be surprised to hear that someone like John the Baptist who even had the privilege to baptize Jesus Christ did not go to heaven. At Mat 11:11 we read "Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he". (KJV)

How do we know that good people will eventually inherit this earth?

* Psalms 37: 9 says "For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord , they shall inherit the earth". (KJV)

* Also Jesus himself said in Mat 5:5 "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth".(KJV)

* How about the Lords Prayer? "Our father which art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth, as it is in Heaven". Does this not reveal that Jesus wanted us to pray for the time when the earth will be filled with righteousness?

Let me quickly add that I do believe that some people will go to heaven, as Jesus said in Mat 5:3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven". (KJV)

However all who go to heaven do have a purpose for going there, yes they have an assignment to carry out with our lord Jesus Christ. See Revelation 20:6 "Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years". (KJV) If their duty is to rule with Christ as kings and priest, does it not make sense to conclude that they will jointly rule over people on earth?

In conclusion if Adam had not sinned he would have had perfect offsprings that would have filled the earth forever. That purpose of God has not changed and has been validated by the ransom sacrifice of our lord Jesus Christ.

God bless you all as you keep an open mind to gaining insight from the bible.

You answered the question yourself already in your conclusion. There wouldn't have even existed the concept of heaven or hell if Adam had not sinned, because it was sin that brought separation (death) to Man. God placed Adam in the garden of Eden(presence) which means presence of God, so he was meant to live in Eden (presence of God) i.e Heaven forever, it was his sin that canceled that divine plan. So to answer your question, he would have made heaven

Adam's story is an allegory. Why ask unnecessary question on mythology?

Sir are you implying that Eden is heaven? I beg to differ from that. Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Yes and No. Eden literally means "presence" it is the presence of God that was why God walked and moved in the garden because it was also his habitation, and no matter the pilgrimage you do you can never get to see the garden of Eden anywhere. If you think Eden was really on earth check Gen 3:24 it says God placed Cherubims and a flaming sword swinging every way to prevent to guard the garden. The Bible did not state that these angels and Cherubims were later removed, so where is Eden on the earth so we can go and see Cherubims (angels) and flaming sword!

The garden of Eden contains the tree of life. Clearly God wanted it hidden from man...cos if anyone eats from the tree of life things can get complicated...Do you really think its difficult for the Almighty creator to keep the garden concealed from man for as much as he chooses?

Moses wrote the book of genesis. He wasn't around when the events in genesis took place. So the only way Moses could have known about these things was through visions. Visions are given via symbols and figures. So the garden of Eden, eating from the trees and serpent were just symbols that represent the presence of God, man's dependence on himself or God, and Satan respectively. Moses couldn't give the interpretation to the visions because he was a natural man. He only wrote down what he saw.

That is why Our Lord Jesus didn't mention the garden of Eden in the gospel. Neither did the apostles in their letters to the churches and to the Jews. All of these were not real. The hidden message in Genesis 3 is that Adam committed the sin of unbelief and the solution to that sin is the blood of Jesus Christ. Simple.

Secondly, Adam was not created to go to heaven. Originally, the earth was an extension of heaven and so God's plan was for man to live forever on earth. May the Lord give us more understanding.
