This is not a way to go at all. The state of the economy is going down every minute and what our leaders could think of is feeding school children. Why not fix power & let's see if parents will not feed their children? They should fix light and leave this feeding stuff. It is not sustainable 1 Like |

mekaboy: I think you should be guided by your statements, who destroyed the parents sources? Buhari? Why can't you guys who hate this fmgovernment so much see anything good? Do you know how many children stay in school hungry? Do you know how many don't attend school even though its free, because their parents won't let them? This program is a good one, as long as it is well implemented. Besides, we can directly see the effects on the economy because the huge money will come back to the system. Farmers, traders and thrme likes will benefit. 1 Like |

nakamora:Just because people are opposed to it for good reasons, that doesn't make them haters. Argue intelligently, it helps.this is actually sharing money which they have said they dont have to achieve nothing. You are feeding school children that pay over 100k in a term. Right now no federal government college is free. After school fees, you will pay development levy and still pay PTA. the federal government should first institute free education in federal public shools before this. If a student can pay over 50k in a school like kings college, do you think feeding will become his problem. The poor man that cant afford to enroll his child into the school because of school fees, would the promise of feeding the child automatically put school fees into his pocket. the government should not be disorganised but follow the right steps. First, free education, second- quality education. Afterwards, the government can.now implement social education programmes like feeding and free transportation of school children. If not, this wouldn't achieve anything except that in the next 7 years or less another or even the same president will announce the suspension.of the programme, inauguarate a committee that will say that so so billions of the school feeding programme have been embezzled, and how caterers or officials are feeding students expired products and the many mind buggling revelations in their report. Then the efcc will start parading so so and so who bought houses and did whatever with so and so billions stolen. After everything, the whole money will still not be recovered. 1 Like |

Built2last: I was thinking d same. This is not about wailing. Governments job should be to ensure private sectors function which means a vibrant economy. Not saying this is a bad project. But this government is focused on projects that people can see them doing. The primary function is more on fiscal and monetary policies and every other thing follows. Like I mentioned somewhere. The government intervention is focused on wrong projects. So how will procurement and supply chain issues be managed? It sounds simple on paper. It shouldn't even be a villa activity. Where is the ministry of education in all this? There are serious challenges. This government is not acting strategic. They seem to like campaign projects. On a lighter note, a lot seems to be happening with PMB absent. Or it's just a coincidence. |

greatiyk4u: I can't believe u are still brainwashed up till now. Most of your like have washed the soap off their eyes. You believe this crap is a solution? What APC is doing is the more u look the less you see. You have 500 naira which is your own that can buy 10 tomatoes at 50 naira each. The dey dash u 5000 and make tomatoes 5000 for 1. Which do u prefer, to have 500 and buy 10 tomatoes or to have 5000 and buy 1? Why will the children be motivated to go go to school when they have seen how their parents who went have ended up due to the lack of direction of the govt? |

Ibudus: Over a million people have lost their job since PMB came into power. They have children that go to school and depend on them. All those people who lost their job last week and this week, who do u blame for that? |

ZUBY77: Stop running ahead of your shadows. Tell your kids not to accept governments meal in school. You should also provide your kids with alternative meals so that they won't look at kids who are enjoying the nice meals provided by the government of their country. It's that simple. |

[quote author=Built2last post=46412334]How sustainable is this project looking at the current economic realities. we always put the cart before the horse and that's why we are on auto reverse. why not focus on reviving the economy so that parents can be busy and cater for their children. States in Nigeria have tried this project and it failed woefully. Buhari needs a serious economic team. without it all these happening is jamboree. we are going down for his ineptitude and cluelessness. by the end of June we will be in full fledged recession if we record another negative ratio in GDP.[/quote lol you are right though.... This is project is stupid and should not be encouraged. They ran Osun state to the ground with projects like this. Lagos is now almost 2billion dollars in debt because of projects like this. It should be rejected by all. |

Regardless what some chaps think, this is still a welcome development, that they are about fulfilling one of their campaign promises is laudable whether it's economically viable or not. Nigerians can't be pleased though, Govt should just do what they deem right as Nigerians sometimes are clouded by different Logical reasons. Govt didn't fulfill their promises, complain! They fulfill, complain, what then do we really want? Many parents are still uneducated, who live on little and send their wards to government schools that are free, so when they see opportunity like this, they are happy that feeding is a bit reduced on their part knowing some of these kids go to school with empty stomach, infact, a time I went for analysis report, a kid in jss3 was crying because he's not eaten since morning and that was in a private school. All fingers are not equal, u don't need the meal, send your kids to private schools or as u so deem fit. Not everybody would like u or what u do.... Even Jesus did not enjoy such privilege when he was on earth. 1 Like |
