3 Suspects in trouble over humans parts, robbery

The Ogun state police command has arrested three men for being in possession of human skulls and bones. Among the suspects was a herbal practitioner, Rasaki Yekini, who allegedly concealed a human skull in a polythene bag.

He was nabbed at Ijebu Ode, by police operatives who were on stop-and-search duty on the Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road.

Narrating how the suspect found himself in police net, the state police commissioner, Mr. Hashimu Argungu, said he was nabbed by policemen attached to the Obalende Division.

He explained that the policemen flagged down an Opel car marked, K 72 AAA, for a routine search only to discover the human skull concealed in black polythene bag.

The suspect confessed being in the business of using human parts for rituals purposes. He said he had been in the business for the past two years.

The suspect, a native of Oru-Ijebu in Ogun state, said he bought the skull in his home town.

Azeez Bola, 40, Godwin Okere, 35, were arrested in a bush on the Lagos/Ibadan expressway for also having dry human bones in their possession.

But the suspects claimed they found the bones in the bush and decided to take them.

They said: “We thought they would be useful for rituals and decided to take them.

The CP also told Daily Sun how the command intercepted a Toyota Camry with registration number, FG 331 LND, adding that when it was searched, empty shells of AK 47 ammunition and some documents bearing different names, were found on the suspects.

Argungu said all the suspects would appear in court soon.
