Hello guys, I just checked my mail and saw this BOMB from Zenith Bank. Kinda wondering if this was sent to all Zenith customers.
Anybody with an Idea about this?

Basically speaking....a communist economy, from the Nigerian perspective....would involve the government taking over everything.

In other words...there would be no private business ever in Nigeria. Everything...from the Big shoprite to the small provision shop would be run by Government and products there would be sold at low prices. Fuel would be subsidized to sell at N20 per liter, as would other things.. And there would be no such thing as private farms...the government would have organised villages into collective farms....who won't be allowed to take their foodstuff to market for sale....instead...you give between 50-90% of your harvest to the government. Even your local barber or hairdresser would be owned by the government.....your barber or hairdresser would give all his profits to the government.There would be no such things as private school, private hospital, private telecom firms, etc. All would be government run.

What we do in Nigeria is called a mixed economy. In brief...the govt runs some things like education and health, while the private sector is allowed to operate with greater freedom than a pure socialist/communist economy. (By the way there is no such thing as a Communist economy.....Communism is the expected end product of a socialist economy.).

The reason why things are hard is because thanks to the fall in oil prices....we do not have enough foreign exchange to play around with in Nigeria. In brief....our problem is that we are dependent on revenues from resources like oil, agric and mining to get forex for we economy. When the forex supply begins to dry up....like now....the government begins to restrict forex. It is a bad decision, but the lesser of two evils. Evil two would be to let the forex flow...which would drain our forex reserves drastically....and lead us to even worse inflation and more serious problems. Meanwhile...we need forex not only to buffer the naira , but to meet international financial obligations. So...govt stops people from using its forex.....and forces people to go to the parallel market. Hence the situation this thread depicts.

Bro, that's do not true. I used gtbank MasterCard some two days ago on Amazon and it worked as always.

I just use my GTbank ATM card to top up my Metro Card here in Dubai.
