dont know about rebranding but here in Akure, Ondo State its like las vegas sometimes. We get PS for like 48 hours at a go.Men its awesome getting to use electricity like i deem fit.And we get our supply from the Omoteso power plant in Okitipupa not kainjii dam

The last time I visited Akure light was very stable there. I hope to be there again this december. As for Port Harcourt, it is total darkness.

Hmn! who post this thread? I'm begining to suspect this thread, abi na topic we go call am? Looks like the Rebranding Nigeria fellas have arrived on Nairaland. If not why on earth will someone be asking an obvious question knowing the situation of power generation in the country.

For the benefit of doubt,  bros, nothing has improved, if nothing it is getting worse. But be rest assured Power Holding (PHCN) is still sending us bill for power not consumed. Look below this page and tell me the adverts you saw.

Bye.

I think it's mighty hard to claim for certain that ''nothing has improved'', particularly if you're basing your claim on your localised experience and/or limited glimpses of the power situation in various other locales.

Nigeria is a huge country, which is why a poll like this serves to give a more valid picture of the situation, by recording testimonies of residents from all parts of the federation.

Up till this month we never had up to 3 hours of power at a stretch for almost 2 years now in my part of Lagos metropolis. On the 5th of this month (The day Nigeria Played Tunisia) we had about 12 hour at a stretch from 12PM to 12AM (we are on a 12 hour schedule 12 noon to 12 midnight or 12 mid night to 12 noon although they end up suppling only 2 to 4 hours in the whole day with about 2 to 4 interruptions).
Overall, there is a slight improvement but of course the situation is still pathetic.

I cannot for the life of me fathom why Nigerans are so impatient for electricity, when the Late, Great, Always Mighty, Ever Popular General Sanni Abacha, shortly before he expired on the downstroke with an Indian hooker, pledged uninterrupted electricity for Nigeria NO LATER THAN the year 2059.

If I had my way, all disgruntled elements who so much as utter the word  "electricity",  in the the Nigerian context, would be bundled off to the Gulag for a few decades of disciplinary re-education.

I wonder if this a good topic here , cos we all know that Nigerian Power Holdings will Surely Hold There Power To Themselves, so why the worry, pls go away with ur post.
Though, i had a dream sometimes ago and in my dream i saw that Power suply will be good , but only if we get colonized again by the British ( just a dream). loll

The only solution to power failure that we all know is to buy at least 2 generators, one in the morning and one at night, or solar panel and that is the paid advert that is keeping some sites alive now, everywhere u see any paper advert just check well and you will see atleast 10 to 15 adverts on solar panel or generator ( big and small), please make sure you buy 2 atleast, to keep life going. Jah bless
