Also @ Udoka, is this your first miscarriage, if not then get yourself some children's aspirin. Might be blood is flowing well enough to your uterus. It needs to be 75mg which you can get over the counter. This thins your blood and blood flows everywhere. This is normal drug that is always recommended if having IVF in the UK incase you're in doubt.

@zenoj, i got my for 11,500 naira, in kaduna, but it is a prescription drug. Depending on ur prolactin levels, i was asked to take one tablelet every week, after three weeks, my asked me to reduce it half every week, it better to see ur ur Dr before u start any medication
Re: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by udoka2: 7:19am On Jul 24, 2012
Thank you everybody for ur prayers and concern

Beetle and camrygmail
I mean 17th of July.I hv had 3 miscarriages in d past. I was on progesterone and baby aspirin before the bleeding started on 25th June. I stoped all medication since then. If d case is progesterone or blood not flowing to d uterus I don't think there will be bleeding in d first place. However the Dr said he will do a quantitative blood test in 4wks if the results remains inconclusive.
I hv come to a realisation that this journey is not by drugs nor by having enough ttc experience, which are very good though, but by GOD. Apart from prenatal, I hv handed over to God entirely. I think I hv done my best medically and knowledge wise.

I still believe am a WINNER, I see God coming thru for me and everyone of us IJN.

@GenBuhari
U are right with ipio dh spe.rm count, I saw d possiblity of conception as u also said cuz of the great motility rate, I pray he hv great morphology too.
Ipio, I will advice also that ur dh stay away from evryday se.x, especially let him stay away for 2-3 days before ur fertile period and during ur fertile period, he shd go ones each time. He shd also eat more of tigernuts someone has testfied of its efficacy in spe.rm count boosting, me I know its very rich in zinc.

Thanks o GenBuhari. Am not really familiar with this new scheme on NL o. I was not even aware of the banning.

@beetle, thanks for the analysis. Although am trying very hard to comprehend your post o. On the PCOS stuff, does the result give any sign of that. I have regular cycles, there is no fluid from my boo.bs although its most times painful days before menses, I have scanty hair on my chin though, those are the symptoms I can describe for now.

As I said, I will be seeing a new set of doctors very soon and from there I will post my findings here.

Thank you all, am very grateful for your concerns. Such wonderful people.
Re: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by Beetle: 10:36am On Jul 24, 2012
@ Aladunni, to check a woman's fertility, it needs to be done between days 1-3. Day 21 is to check that you've ovulated so I cant really say much apart from your progesterone level. It's too low and might be that you ovulate really late. Day 21 is not really ideal to check that you've ovulated as well. You need to test for ovulation using OPK, as soon as you've seen the smiley face or two lines, you wait to test 7 days after regardless of what day in the cycle you're. I hope that helps. Actually your LH is showing a surge but don't know why your progesterone level is low. For normal conception, you might benefit from PIO (Progesterone in oil injections) because this goes straight to your blood stream as opposed to progesterone vaginally suppositories.

I'll explain again, you did the test on day 21 after ovulation.

Normally to check a woman's fertility you do so on day 3
Day 21 is to check that a woman has ovulated.
From your test result your progesterone is low so you might need some additional progesterone.
There are different types of progesterone, vaginal suppositories, some taking orally and injectible. Injectible is the best one as it goes straight to your blood stream.
To ovulate you need to have an LH surge which is why your LH needs to be high at that stage. That is what people test for when they use ovulation prediction kits (OPK).

I hope this helps.

@ camrygmail,believe u & LO are great.
@Genbuhari,believe Dw is fine, tanks 4 ur inputs, I also did not understand why d details of d result is so scanty & no result for morphology, he might just do have 2 do another test.
@ Beetle, tanks also, guess u r fine.
@ Rocksqueen, where r u, we miss u,

@Bettle, Camrygmail & Udoka2, I so much really appreciate your responses. I am a man and is relaying my wife's experience - know that the two are now one. I will be back on the conclusion of the test as it seems I will go back for another one. My Gyna only administered an injection (I don't know the name of the injection but have vowed now to ask for anything since I have been meant to understand that I pay for the service)and clomid. Later I was asked to purchase predicte which has not shown anything positive till date. I know with God on all our side, we shall overcome. For the Bible said that none among you shall be barren. Wish you all well.
Re: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by bukieluv(f): 5:58pm On Jul 24, 2012
@ Udoka2 Im not a Doctor, but i think 4 weeks is too long, there are various way to check if pregnancy exist or not. if scan is not showing anything and you are getting +HPT, then the doctor should do a blood test to check progesterone and HCG level, it should double every 24hours. Scan doesnt show anything in some people till 12 weeks, but HCG level is very key. I'm really surprise that the doctor asked you to come back in in four weeks time. Above all GOD who's the greatest physician will step into your case and do his wonders in your life.

Okay, just get enought rest and take thing easy, stay encouraged. but please promise that if you start feeling any symptoms good or bad please don't hesitate to go to the doctor or seek a second opinion. Personally, I don't like the way the doctor is making you feel like you are bothering him with your questions or knowledge. it is not a bad thing to know about your fertility and your womanly health. so don't apologize for being an informed patient.
Re: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by Beetle: 7:18pm On Jul 24, 2012
@ Udoka, you've had 3 miscarriages, that is a bit on the high side.

Have you taken any medication apart from extra progesterone and aspirin.

If not you might/might not have high NK cell activity.

I'm going to ask you a few questions.

How do you feel just after implantation? I.e. after ovulation.

Do you feel feverish?
Do you have cold or sore throat?
Re: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by udoka2: 7:56pm On Jul 24, 2012
Camrgmail.
I promise, tx dearie

Beetle
I can say sore throat. And no I hv not taken any otther preventive drugs except those u mentioned above.
I will read up d NK cell activity, tx for that.
Re: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by Beetle: 11:13pm On Jul 24, 2012
@ Udoka, Last question, have you got eczema, asthma?

If yes, you might have high NK cell activity. To treat this empirically you might need your Dr to prescribe you steroids which you start from CD1.

Just search for infertility and NK cell.

AF yesterday. Please does anyone know how I can go through a painless AF? The first two days are becoming something else o. Ani.on sanitary pads had regulated the heavy and long flows for me but the pain is still something else.

For all going for HSG, all the best and wishing you happy results.

@Udoka, it is well with you and your baby.
Re: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by Beetle: 10:45am On Jul 25, 2012
@ Aladunni just endure the pain for now. After childbirth no more pain for u unless u want to go on the pill which I know u wouldn't want to try. There might be some Chinese tea though. Acupuncture also helps to relieve the pain.

@ Udoka, have u ever tried Acupuncture?

Acupuncture I am not sure that is exisitng around here o. Or is it the same as this popular 'massage'? Thanks for the encouragement, but what does 'pill' do. Will it stop my periods or the pains. Why is it bad for me?

Re: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by Toronto123: 3:52pm On Jul 25, 2012
Hello All,
Long time. So i had another failed IUI and i immediately changed my RE. I have an amazing one who is doing all possible tests before prescribing any drugs from me. Yesterday I did a Sonogram where a small Uterine Polyp was found. He suspects that what is causing the baby not to implant so I will have to do a surgery to remove it. Also i did another HSG.. i did without any pill, I was fine. Both tubes open ( this will be my second HSG so i am a pro at it already).
This cycle is going to all natural for us, no medications until the polyp is removed.
Udoka.. i am praying for you, Please try and get some progrestrone. @Aladunni i have done 2 acupuncture before, this is a delicate procedure and i will advise you go to someone very professional. The needles are real and you can easily be infected. Your painful period could be a sign of endometriosis or fibrod. Don’t self diagnose, go see a specialist to do a good check you.
Re: Trying To Conceive A Child? TTC by Beetle: 5:14pm On Jul 25, 2012
@ Toronto are you for real?

Acupuncture cures most things, pls guys don't let someone give you false information about it. I live in UK and it is regulated and you can find some good acupuncturists in GP surgery as well. I'm sorry I just don't know about Naija.

Udoka, I'll advise it for you before yOu delve into Prednisolone and etc. I have seen pregnant people having acupuncture until they put to bed. Even it's good for lowering FSH and all of that, the only thing IVF doctors ask for is that you don't take chinese herbs when undergoingIVF.

People also have Acupuncture before and after ET to help with implantation using the German Protocol . A good acupuncturist will always use fresh needles and you can tell it's fresh because it comes in a package. I can go on and on about Acupuncture. My problem is MF and if I can get DH to come round and do things my own maybe we will get a good result.
