What does this mean for Biafra/ns. Nothing as sweet as true freedom and unrestrained self-determination What is the unknown unknown here and who is afraid of Igbo-Exit from 'N'? Next thing cld be IGBOXIT after BREXIT! Methinks if you give Ndi-Igbo such referendum u might likely record 101% for YWC - yeswecan! I mean 100-years is enough to know abt sthg that wont work! 2 Likes |

[s] attackgat:[/s] This should ratther serve as a pointer to u, Ugandans and ur dilector that its not by calling Nigeria a zoo, on setting up treasonable radio stations, or hanging broadcasting instruments illegally on communication masts, or by instigating hate, insulting the serving president and other tribes, or calling Nigeria a Zoo. Those that voted didn't call EU a Zoo, neither did they set up broadcast stations to preach hate. Be sensible for once 5 Likes |

jide333: Thank you very much. Not all igbos support secession. If Nigeria was UK, it will just be a matter of organizing a referendum, telling them what they stand to gain and lose if they seceed and allow them to make their choice. I bet when the facts are laid bare, some of them will have a rethink and vote to stay. The idea of always shutting down secession is wrong, it is doing the country more harm. I was in Edinburgh shortly before Scottish referendum and judging by the rhetorics, i thought Scotland is gone. Some of my friends who were campaigning to leave later voted not to leave. Reason? One told me he was no longer convinced about the whole thing. But if UK decided to use force, people like that will be convinced to leave. Come to think of it, it doesn't cost a nuclear armed UK to quash any idea of secession then why didn't they go through that route? 2 Likes |

heskeyw: They will remain in UEFA organized competitions because EU is different from UEFA. UEFA is in charge of football in the whole of Europe as a continent. Turkey is not part of EU but they come for UEFA organized competitions |

ronald4lif:I really pity British economy; her economy benefits from EU policies, which attracted investors. With this referendum,I see investors going elsewhere. Moreover, breakup of UK is inevitable, as n.Ireland and Scotland voted to remain in EU and more hostilities from other EU members who never liked the Brits. 2 Likes |

This referendum is a sober reflection for Nigeria and the government that is shooting innocent protesters because they want to leave, freedom of leaving a union is scared and nobody should forced to stay in any union. |

Candyrain:The constitution is an expression of the will of d people. That's why d preamble to the Nigerian constitution says: "we the people of Nigeria." If u want to amend d constitution, d process involved is explained in d constitution, so d constitution is not subject to diverse whims or wishes of a group among d people unless those wishes are strong enough to occasion an amendment of d law of d land 5 Likes |

fiizznation:The renewed agitation for Biafra started with MASsOB in 1999. They adopted Ghandi of India peaceful approach, but the government of OBJ clamped down on them because of their Biafraphobia. That approach changed when they found out they are dealing with baboons and monkeys in a zoo. Nnamdi was a defender of the OneNigeria Project, so the question should be, why the sudden change? 1 Like |

koboko69:If UK resisted and use army to quash the Scottish referendum, it will result into civil unrest than setting up a mere radio station, Biafra agitation has been long overdue, since 1999 MASSOB is in existence, let the government organize a referendum for them,if they decide to leave, let it be, nobody should forced to be in place that he doesn't want |

heykims: No they didn't need to antagonise the govt because they have a listening one and they've done the needful. On the other hand we have a govt who threatens u with war when such talks comes up and they also go the extra mile to kill people off. If the Nigerian govt had done the needful there won't be any need for radio Biafra and others. For ur information massob had been in existence during the time of OBJ so leave GEJ out |

Just like Nigeria has her problem, every other country have theirs too. The votes show that even Britain is not as united as it seems on the surface. The world is highly polarised since division at tower of babel. Voices of dissension everywhere. Na so e go continue till Jesus comes back. |

Ikr. Bunch of hypocrites, eh! If they hate immigrants so much, they can always recall Canada, America, South Africa, Australia.... Mtcheeeeeew! They started the globilization of the world; they should quit their whining now that it's started happening to them. Like the Brexit will stop the hardcore immigrants. Get with the times people! You think Eastern Europeans leaving suddenly means manufacturing jobs will come back? Hahahahahahahaha! Your economy will suffer! But hey, you'll be a pink country. So Eat and drink your pinkness! And for those comparing it favorably to the Biafra movement - you know, the pink-skin worshippers; as if the Brexit wasn't marked by vitriol, hate, anger, fear and even the murder of a sitting member of Parliament! Forge your own path you morons and stop looking to former colonizers who terrorized your own people! With people that think like you, no wonder Nigeria is still remains underdeveloped. fiizznation: 5 Likes |

gists: My exact thoughts. I was telling somebody just last night that if those clamoring for Biafra were serious and had their peoples backing, they would vie for elective posts in the state and federal levels, then make noise and push for a referendum on the Biafra issue. But we all know that those shouting are doing it for selfish interest. I keep warning people to be wary of politicians. 1 Like |

Maybe when the so called "civilized" read "white" countries stop helping themselves to the resources on the so-called "uncivilized" read "non-white" countries. And if you think that isn't the nature of things; if you think they don't aid third-world corruption; if you think they haven't helped put dictators in power; if you think they don't hold on to trillions of YOUR money; you need to get your nose out of their asses. ooshinibos: 1 Like |

BekeeBuAgbara: Kanu's mistake I keep telling people was when he started cohorting with touts. If he was serious and had the people support he would vie for the senate or rep and work to put his fellow idealist into elective posts and start making noise about referendums. Not posing in the bush with guns. Once he did that (posing with guns) I didn't take him serious anymore. 1 Like 1 Share |

Was Nigeria a self-determined federation? Did the Igbos originally decide to join up? Did the Yorubas or Hausas? Or was the country cobbled together by the same Britain (that present-day idiot Nigerians are praising as "civilized" without care for the wishes of its citizens? foladara777: |

As for our Biafran brothers, you guys should channel your agitation towards a call for a referendum! and not calling Nigeria a Zoo and insulting other citizens! 1 Like |
