Shame: Fayose, Aisha Buhari Dance Dirty - Nigerians React by fayisode(m): 5:45pm On Jun 24, 2016
The Governor of Ekiti state and the First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari have been caught up in what many can call a dirty dance, one that the Nigerian people cannot stop talking about. Governor Fayose had relived a scandal
involving the presidents wife. Fayose stressed
on Monday, June 20, the alleged role played by
Buhari’s wife, in the messy bribery scandal
involving Williams Jefferson, a US Congressman. The Ekiti state governor distributed a link to the
US Department of Justice’s website holding
court documents where Aisha Buhari was
alleged to have transferred suspicious funds to
a convicted former American congressman,
Williams Jefferson. In a statement signed by his Chief Press
Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, Fayose said President Buhari was far from being a clean man. Fayose’s statement on Aisha’s involvement
comes on the heels of a development in which
the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission
(EFCC) had to freeze his account. A source was also said to have disclosed that
the governor’s account in Zenith Bank in Ekiti
as well as those of some of his associates were
also frozen by the anti-graft agency. After visiting the bank at Onigari, GRA area of
the state capital, Fayose described the action as
illegal and while citing section 308 of the 1999
constitution, the governor stated that the
federal government should fight corruption
within the ambit of the law, since he enjoys immunity as a sitting governor. He said: “I got mind of the fact that the EFCC had
placed restriction order on my personal
account and that of my associates. I came here
today and I have been able to see it. This action
shows that this government has no respect for
the constitution because I enjoy immunity under Section 308.“I support government fighting corruption, but
it has to be within the ambit of the law. You can
investigate me, it is their right, but they have to
wait till 2018, because I will be done by then.
They should not be in a hurry because I will
personally come to them for investigation.” In reaction to Fayose’s comments, the EFCC has
said that immunity does not stop the
commission from investigating suspicious
account belonging to any governor. Wilson Uwujaren, the spokesman for the EFCC
in reaction to the governor’s immunity claims,
said the immunity being enjoyed by any governor does not prevent the commission
from investigating suspicious movements of
money into their accounts. Meanwhile, in reply to Fayose’s accusation, Aisha Buhari reportedly called the governor a
dog, a mad one at that. She went on to threaten that the Ekiti state governor must take back his words or face her personally in court. While the dance of Aisha and Fayose was still
on, a case of election funding scandal cropped-
up. The EFCC had on Monday, June 20, frozen
two personal accounts of the governor and
one belonging to his company, Spotless
Investments, in the course of its investigations into N4.7billion Fayose allegedly received from
the Office of the National Security Adviser
during his election campaign in 2014. Fayose denied receiving any money, claiming it
was Zenith Bank that majorly funded his
campaign. However, Zenith Bank denied its
involvement in Fayose’s governorship
campaign. It was in the wake of this that Fayose
challenged Zenith Bank to come out with an
official statement showing the bank’s denial
about funding his election in 2014 The governor referred APC, Zenith bank and
the EFCC some Bible verses, saying he stands by his claim that the bank majorly funded in
election in June 2014. With the entire drama getting messier by the
day degenerating into the kneeling of alleged
Bank officials before Fayose, Nigerians took to
social media to speak on the highly
controversial issue. Below are some reactions
of Nigerians to the dirty dance within Nigeria’s corridors of power. “I believe Nigeria needs an investigative public
hearing on the roles of Nigeria’s corporations
in politics,to expose their relationships with
politicians.Because if a bank can use
depositors’ funds to finance an election, then
there is a problem with us.It is irresponsible, unethical and illegal. Who knows this might be one of the reasons
banks fail and throw people out of jobs
without benefits? With this revelation Fayose is
as guilty as the bank and should be impeached
because the means through which he got
elected was illegal and thereby his election is null and void ab initio. Please, attack the
message and not the messenger,” GRasaq
Adeshina opined. Chukwu Emeka Nwachukwu said: “EFCC froze
the account of a sitting governor during the
regime of GEJ, governor Nyako was some so
called enemy of him his account was frozen
and impeached illegally heaven didn’t fall. Now
even people who borrowed money to buy data are against EFCC shame to people leaving with
ignorance.” Nwafor Ndubueze Vincent was of the opinion
that “It is obvious that the EFCC is becoming
unnecessarily obedient to Mr president. Making
people panic, hunting down any perceived
enemy for reasons very irrelevant. Why is it that
the zenith bank is afraid to admit that they funded his election when they know they did?
Every sector in this country is now
collaborating with the EFCC and the president to
prosecute people.” “People do apply for loan in a bank, provided
you meet up the loan terms bank will not
hesitate to grant you that. So if fayose’s election
is sponsored by zenith bank is not a crime.
After all other private enterprise do sponsor
politicians. Mind you most all this banks are owned by politicians,” Emeka Moses Okereke
noted. Emiliamary Ogochi debated that “If he had
done his duty well and not be intruding in
others affairs, he wouldn’t have encounter this
incidence. I believe the initiative behind the
action of the EFCC is to know what and where
the money he is receiving for his state is going to, that he couldn’t pay the workers salary for
many months while having so much in his
bank account. He have to answer for every
penny, how its generated.” He couldn’t pay his staff salary but spend time
abusing governments in media like he is
perfect. I think this is the reason behind the
freezing of his account and the rattling of the
activities in his accounts. The biblical verse I think is also for him too. I
wish he have been perfect to be worthy of
advising or admonishing the government on
media,” Ogochi further stressed. Titilayomi Banjo Adebayo was of the opinion
that “Its all propaganda, they came to visit him
& he made it look like they came to beg him,
making one of d officials to knee down. Mr
Fayose pls stop using lies to cover lies.
Nigerians are nt fools. Olisa Metuh & Femi Fani- Kayode did d same thing but by d time they
were faced wt facts & figures they starting
pleading to refund all d looted funds. All dis
ranting cannot save u, ur time is up.” Jude Dorchman was stunned, he said: “Even
Banks are now being used in spreading their
propaganda also? Shame on you zenith bank,
shame on you APC, shame on you PMB and
your government for bringing so much hatred
and bigotry on our once striving and harmonious society, we’ve never had it this bad
before historically and some idiots are justifying
all these militarization and raping of our
democracy just to score a cheap political goal.” Oparaeke Remigius noted that hatred for PMB
and sentiments is seriously affecting peoples
sense of reasoning. He said: “The same Fayose
that went to China concocted a podium and
said he was addressing investors, I pity Ekiti
people a governor that has made ranting, gossiping and making trouble here and their
his main priority I wonder when he’ll have time
to attend to affairs of the state which was the
he was elected, OK sorry I just remembered he
is on strike.” Afolabi Oladele said: “The statement that bank
came to beg you for financing or sponsoring
your election of almost two years is meant for
your goons in Ekiti. Your character had
blindfolded you to the extent you think all
other person reason the way you do. When 419ners send their bates out into their market,
It only catches people who are daft and reason
below their level. Paste your latest news on the wall of houses of
Ekiti workers. If they came to beg you, what
about the money in the account when you told
the whole world how poor you became when
you were flushed out as Ekiti state Governor in
your first term and less than 24 months you become a billionaire while salaries and pension
were suspended, hiding under noises of Buhari
to steal Ekiti dry.” An Ekiti state indigene called Fasanmi
Olanrewaju said: “Fellow Nigerians, I am a
typical Ekiti man and I know what’s going on in
Ekiti politics. It’s a pity that Ekiti people voted
for a hooligan, he has no respect for elders or
even the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Let Fayose explain to all Nigerians what he did
with N9.6 billions bail-out he collected, let him
explain what he did with money he collected
from sixteen local government in Ekiti state
immediately he was sworn in, let him tell the
whole world what he did with N10 billions loan he borrowed for fly over in Ado Ekiti etc. I am living very close to his house in Magodo
GRA, the 2015 Range – Rover his son is
cruising around, how did that boy get the
money? These idiots have finished this country,
people are dying of hunger in Ekiti on daily
basis and this man doesn’t want to hear anything about Ekiti people. Anyway, I am
really enjoying the drama in the state. Fayose, pls, subject these people to more
hardship. In fact, no governor can treat the
igbos like that because they are hardworking
and highly intelligent, that’s the reason why I
am in support of Biafra, because of non
payment of six months salaries they couldn’t feed themselves! This is the best time for Ekiti
people to wake up from their slumber.” Martin Ifietekha Anegbeh sent a warning
saying: “Don’t forget the Bank denied funding
and sponsor his election as he claimed.
Therefore, for the Zenith Bank management
official visit to beg the Governor Fayose means
the governor is right but they were afraid of our democratic military Dictator President
Buhari. We wish the president can as well send
his wife to visit USA to prove Gov, Fayose
wrong.” George Olayode was of the opinion that “This is
common-sense, how could an organisation as
big as a bank could go and be begging a
costumer in his own abode or where ever he is,
The sheet governor can say that to his stomach
infrastructure people in his village Ekiti people wake up from your slumber.Fayose had 419
you all sorry.” Dennis Uzim felt compelled to lend his voice to
the argument, he said: “Naivity has taken over
the social media space,” adding that “for the
fact that Zenith Bank management visited
Governor under no duress at this
inopportuned moment speaks volumes about the fact that the Bank was hand-in-glove with
power that be to rope-in Fayose in some non-
existing financial sleaze.” “For those who are blabbing that Governor
Fayose stage managed this meeting or booby-
trapped the bank management with
undisclosed publicity during & after the
meeting, I want to assure you that the
governor works in a high public office with the paraphernalia of publicity blitz so the Zenith
Bank management knew what they were
walking into,” Denis argued.

Fayose is gradually dragging Aisha out.And Aisha is increasingly becoming a very public figure and seems to be enjoying the talks.
Na so Mama P start ooo.

She should allow her spokes person to be speaking for her.
