B2B transactions in Nigeria are full of corruption. Why should you owe your contractors after they have handed over a project that you agreed meet your standards and specification?

An area bro of mine who runs a signage business with his partner was complaining to me some months ago that this same ConOil is owing them 40 million naira. Imagine! For a small business employing under 30 people to be owed 40 million. Bad thing is they (the signage company) acquired a bank loan to finance the project. ConOil has not paid meanwhile interest is making the loan to increase. To make matters worse, if you go to their office to complain and demand for YOUR money, they'll feel insulted and delete your company from their list of contractors.


That day, I concluded that many Nigerian businesses, especially those owned by individuals are not well run! Let's forget the high cost of doing business and other economic woes--many Nigerian businesses are not well run. Simples
