The local education authority staff screening exercise to provide an opportunity to Katsina state government to improve its educational sector. The education secretary Sandamu local education authority Malam Ya’u Tukur karkarku stated this in an interview with CFM correspondent in Daura. Malam Ya’u Tukur said the screening exercise conducted in Sandamu has greatly assisted in finding out teachers due for retirement as well as those who do not go to work.

Moreover, in a related development the education secretaries of Daura and Zango local government authority Malam Nura Lawal and Malam Sabiu Alhasan have describe the screening exercise as a way forward to improve teaching profession in the state. They said if the exercise should be properly maintained, it will assist the teachers to pay more attention to their duty.
