Weep Not For Saraki And Ekweremadu As They Deserve No Pity - Charles Ogbu by TheLegal(m): 3:42pm On Jun 28, 2016
If there is any lesson we ought to
learn from the ongoing criminal
prosecution of the Senate leadership
over the alleged forgery of Senate
Standing Rule, it is that tyranny
knows its way home and those who sit
back and watch evil thrive without
lifting a finger to stop it are almost
always certain to fall victim to that
same evil.
Truth be told, Saraki and
Ekweremmadu and the entire
leadership of the National Assembly
are largely to blame for the
"unchained mad dog" our president has
since become. By their complacency,
criminal negligence and complicity,
the due of Saraki and Ekweremmadu
made it possible for President Buhari
to preside over the destiny of over
170million Nigerians as though he was
presiding over his cows in daura.
Apart from making laws for the
country, the 2nd most important duty
of the legislature is to act as a
watch dog over the executive arm of
government by making sure the
president and his ministers carry out
their duties within the confines of
the law. Isn't that why we have the
principle of Checks And Balances in
our law book?
Can we honestly say that the
leadership of the National Assembly
has fared well in this regard?? Can
we??
We all know the answer to that.
The bitter truth is, the National
Assembly has been as useless as a
flaccid penis as far as its job of
checking the excesses of the
executive arm of government led by
president Muhammadu Buhari is
concerned.
For six months....six whole months,
the National Assembly sat back and
watched like a common spectator as
president Buhari ran the country like
some pseudo-monarchy against the
provisions of our law book. Every
sector of our national life including
the economy was exclusively ran by a
man whose secondary school WAEC
result is still a subject of a legal
battle even as I type this while the
NASS members were busy hurling
stones, chairs and broken bottles at
each other over disagreement in
sharing juicy leadership positions of
different committees in both the Red
and the Green Chambers.
When over 1000 citizens of this
country were massacred in a day in
Zaria, Kaduna state by the army
chief just for blocking his convoy,
what did the so called National
Assembly do?? Nothing! How do you
claim to be the representative of the
people only to keep quite when over
1000 of these same people you are
supposed to be representing get
butchered like Christmas goat by the
leadership of the national army that
is supposed to protect them?? In a
saner clime, the lawmakers would
summon the Commander-In-Chief but
here, the spineless dick-less cowards
were all too scared to even mention
the name of the commander-in-chief.
President Buhari swore to abide by
the provisions of the constitution,
yet, thesame president went on air
during his # Mediachart and defended
his refusal to obey the Dec.17 ruling
of Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the FCT
high court ordering the unconditional
release of the leader of the
Indigenous People Of Biafra -maazi
Nnamdi Kanu from prison. This is in
addition to so many instances where
the president has treated our laws
with disdain.
Does disobeying court order not
amount to defying the constitution
which is an impeachable offense?? Did
the so called National Assembly even
caution him?
We all witnessed the hate-induced
killing of hundreds of pro-Biafra guys
in South East states by uniformed
criminals masquerading as agents of
the federal government. Some of
these Igbo guys were killed even in
their sleep according to a
comprehensive report released by the
Global Human Right watchdog -
Amnesty Intl. Others were killed
while they were praying inside the
football field of Ngwa high school on
February 9. Still, there were those
who met their untimely death while
exercising their constitutionally
guaranteed right to freedom of
expression.
In all these killings carried out by
members of the armed forces under
the command of president Buhari, the
National Assembly did nothing to call
the commander-in-chief to order. In
saner clime, these hate induced
killings will trigger public hearing in
the senate and snowball into the
commander-in-chief of those
murderous security operatives being
impeached for complicity in the death
of Nigerians he swore to protect.
We all watched as the presidency
provided and still provide state cover
for the Fulani herdsmen as they go
about killing and maiming Nigerians in
their murderous land-grabbing
campaign. In Enugu, there were
irrefutable evidence that all the
security chiefs in the state
DELIBERATELY allowed the Fulanis to
kill dozens of people in Ukpabi Nimbo
Uzo-uwani. These are not just
proven cases of the failure of the
president to protect the lives and
properties of Nigerians as he swore
to, those were clear cases of
complicity on his part. If this is not
an impeachable offense, what is
But as usual, all we got from the
National Assembly was grave yard
silence. Not even a summon to the
president nor a stern warning to the
security chiefs involved.
What is the essence of referring to
the NASS members as representatives
of the people when they have proven
beyond doubt that they are incapable
of protecting the interest of the
people who gave them the mandate to
be there?? If a man who claims to be
representing me cannot defend my
right to life, of what use is such a
representative to me??
Bukola Saraki and Ekweremadu were
busy fiddling like Nero while their
Rome was burning. Its only fair that
we let them get burnt in the inferno
they've refused to put out even when
they had and still have the
wherewithal to.
When about 100 senior military
officers made up of mostly southern
Christians were summarily dismissed
from the army in a clear case of
ethnic-styled vendetta, the senate
leadership through its committee on
Defense did nothing even when it
knew that this kind of move coming at
a time the country is most volatile
could have far reaching negative
effect on the entire country.
Of what use is the National Assembly
if the president can still run the
country like his private cattle farm??
Isn't is ironic that the leadership of
the senate is being prosecuted for
allegedly forging its own rule (not
any other rule) by a justice minister
whose screening and confirmation was
done with that same 'forged' rule and
a president who is facing allegation
of forging his WAEC result??
By their criminal silence and
complicity, the Senate president and
his deputy has gathered anti-
infested firewood, it is not right
that they should start complaining
now that the Lizard has paid them a
visit.

to you, a zombie, it is a bunkum.

If by Zombie, you mean the people who vanquished foes since 1960, who jail theives and locked down Wailers for good, deal me in. If there is anything you should hate about Zombies, it is the fact that they bear the legal sword over you....and the bible says: HE THAT BEARS THE SWORD DOES NOT BEAR IT IN VAIN.
