The leaves in front of bengi street, a southwest state in Nigeria rustled as the wind blowed on an early Morning.It was wednesday 15th January 1955.
Simisola opened her eyes,wondering what the day would bring for her.
She hated being the only girl among her brothers.Hatred had being an early part of her life.
She wondered if it was an entity born with her.
''Simi'' , cried her father as she turned and lazily got up from her bed.Simi didn't answer, she just frowned angrily and kept mute.
A Minute later,she heard her father's footsteps coming upstairs towards her room.
She locked the door with her key and went back to sleep.

Simi was chocolate skinned,had an oval shaped skin and brown eyes.She had straight shoulders and well built hips.she had al these features too young for her age.
No man would pass her without looking at her backside.Simi wasn't that beautiful,but she was sexy.
It was the only thing that endeared her recognition.she had a virtue at her age.
Simi talked rashly,roughly towards her brothers and Men in particular.No one seemed to understand the reasons for her sudden change from a Gentle,caring smily girl into a ravenous wolf,scary and Domineering person.
She was 15 years old,yet she had the stature of a 30year old lady.
Her long legs and big hands coupled with her rough talking mouth never reflected in her Face.
Deep down inside her,she couldn't take away the fact that something was extraordinaril a strange omen surrounding her.
Simi!!!!! Her mother now called.She then answered, rushed towards the door and opened it.
A resounding slap, kick sent her sprawling towards the ground.
Simi screamed in agony,she was carried up and lifted by her father.
She felt mightily on the bed ,''you respect your mother more than me abi?? Asked her father!!
Useless idiot rotten girl!!! ''her father whipped her again and she fainted.
Her mother came inside the room and then came to console her after her father had left.
Simi sulked uncontrollably.She was already getting used to this whole routine of beating.
Her body trembled in pain as she winced.
She ran out of the room and out of the house.
Come back here!!! Her father shouted at her.
She didn't listen, she ran and ran.Her father pursued her but she outran him.
He stopped upon getting to a nearby road where a lot of onlooker were.
Her father hated public attention so he turned back so as ot to attract any.
He knew she would definitely come back.


If only he knew what would happen in the next 5 years,he would have stopped beating his daughter.
