And what makes u think the chinese dont long for facebook. At a site, i am working in VGC, come and see chinese browsing facebook every 20 mins. Baidu is like a chinese facebook that has no international flavor. The chinese are prisoners to their socialist government. No freedom of expression.
Speak or go against govt order and they make you disappear forever.

My dear you are right but come to think of it, they didn't create their social media for international flavor judging from the language.

Secondly their socialist system of government has ranked them as a the world's trade hub, world's largest exporter of goods /services, world's largest flight destination and second world best economy and seriously gearing to become the first. So don't you think Nigeria needs iron fist to progress. For instance their retributive system of crime control has made political positions and embezzlement of public funds very unattractive.
If you have been to China you will discover that politics is not attractive also you can hardly see convoy of cars nor sirens. How dare you.

Don't you think we need such in Nigeria?

It is for security reasons, we are know our people will abuse it. The only feasible method is if First Bank have an exclusive agreement with PayPal Inc. to allow its user withdraw via their First Bank account. Just like in Malaysia.

And it's only one bank in malaysia that's allowed to do such transactions which is RHB malaysia berhad

So they are just realizing that Nigerians are big shoppers. SEBI THEY WERE DOING Sakara. PayPal would have recorded tremendous earnings if they had included Nigeria from the early days of their operations.
Similarly Mark Zuckerberg (founder of Facebook) could have been among top 3 richest men in the world by now if he didn't succumb to the advise of his arrogant and imperial countrymen.
China has a policy that any foreign company wishing to trade in China must either partner with a similar indigenous company in China or establish an operational base in China thereby making Chinese citizens to take greater ratio of the workforce of the establishment among other benefits to the Chinese government. This policy is especially in force in the automotive industry. This explains why most if not all automobile manufacturing companies have production/assembly plants in China. If an automobile manufacturer fails to indigenize the production of their products or a particular brand in China, the resultant effect is that you will not be allowed to sell the products in China but you risk Chinese local manufacturers counterfeiting your revered product and selling it cheaper but with a different and funny sounding brand name. Like the case of BMW X6 clone bearing "Qin Xi" or so and selling for as low as 150,000RMB equivalent of less than 4million naira for brand new. Also the case of a certain Greely brand counterfeiting Rolls Royce&oq and selling it for as low as less than equivalent of 6million yet with all the facilities in genuine rolls Royce.
Zuckerberg refused the Chinese deal at the onset forgetting that China has almost half of the world's active internet users per day. So Chinese government blocked Facebook IP from officially opening in China then went ahead and invested in other local software firms (Bercent and Baidu) to create social media very similar to Facebook by the time Zuckerberg realized his mistake the local firms had not only become very popular and widely acceptable but preferable amongst the Chinese.
I don't know whether the new Chinese president has officially lifted the ban on Facebook in China.

How I wish Nigerian government could be wise enough to adopt such people oriented economic policies.

Nigerians keep saying things are hard in this country, that Buhari's regime is the worst and we are facing economic recess and yet we still see people fill their fuel tanks daily, going to banks daily, queueing up daily in ATMs and buying things online everyday. Where exactly is the money coming from

Am even fed up ooo, where are they getting the money from?

You have said it all, Nigeria Government are too busy with other things, the rate of unemployment in this land would have been reduced if appropriate policies are put in place and Government always consider the interest of their citizens in any MOU they sign. Paypal will continue to help us spend our money until govt come to our rescue, a lot of job can be done online if the mode of accepting payment is extended to everybody and we can drastically reduce. At first i was thinking it's due to the activities of the Yahoo-Yahoo boys but i realized it was because of the ignorance and care-free attitude of govt ,

Most Oyinbo especially the yankees re rapped up minds.

They didnt allow us for years. Now when they did, they come in with one leg.

I blame our banks, i blame the CBN. You re taking from us and not allowing us to receive, why cant they allow us to only withdraw to a bank account with BVN? In that case, if anyone uses it for fraud, he will be tracked.

GTB needs to come in with their sagacity n outrun this docile arrangement from the First Bank.

In 2 years time Neteller will become the major online payment in naija. Receive and send, linked your ATM, receive dollar sef. I love Neteller. God bless them! If your business dont have a neteller account yet, you re missing out o...

Cheers naija.

@Coldfeets and DCTrendy, i am about to open a Neteller account now. Which currency do you think is best for me to choose out of the options available. i own a website where i am looking forward for people outside Nigeria to make purchases and also another website where just Nigerians alone will buy so i am confused at which currency option to choose (between the Naira and USD) as they (Neteller) made emphasis that any option chosen cannot be eventually changed. Any ideas

Also, hopefully CBN/our banks and paypal can finally allow us to receive money through paypal.

PayPal Holding, Inc. ranked the most populous black nation and the largest African economy Nigeria as the 3rd highest mobile shopper worldwide.

The online payment giant is the most popular medium among Nigerian cross-border shoppers, and estimated 55 percent of all oversea online purchases in the past 12 months were done via PayPal.

Nigerian mobile shoppers reportedly spent N128.1 billion ($610 million) in 2015 using PayPal, and on target for N172 billion ($819 million) this year.

The General Manager of PayPal Africa and Israel, Efi Dahan, said Nigerian online shoppers have realized the world is their shopping mall and as such shop wherever and whenever using their mobile devices.

It should be recalled that Facebook Inc. in February also affirmed Nigeria as its biggest market in Africa, with 97 percent of its 16 million Nigerian users accessing the platform through their mobile devices.

“Nigerians are generally sophisticated mobile users and this sophistication is aiding small businesses,” said Nunu Ntshingila, head of Africa for Facebook.

While China still remains the global leader of mobile shopping nations, with 86 percent of all its online shoppers using smartphone. Nigeria’s 72 percent is third after India's 82 percent.

Since PayPal commenced business in Nigeria, Nigerians are no longer limited to what they can purchase locally, but they now search the globe for better deals.

The current mobile trend is predicted to continue to pave the way for entrepreneurs and boost their global business reach.

PayPal (PYPL) shares rose 3 percent on Wednesday amid takeover speculation.

I'd say go for Neteller in USD

That's what I'm using

It's the commonest

But I believe there should be some inter currency conversion on Neteller so you don't really have much to worry about

Cops give a damn about a negro? Pull the trigger, kill a nigga, he's a hero. Give the crack to the kids who the hell cares? One less hungry mouth on the welfare. First ship 'em dope and let em deal to brothers. Give em guns, step back, and watch em kill each other. It's time to fight back, that's what Huey said. 2 shots in the dark now Huey's dead. I got love for my brother, but we can never go nowhere unless we share with each other. We gotta start makin changes. Learn to see me as a brother stead of 2 distant strangers. And that's how it's supposed to be.

Isn't it strange that 4 shots in the dark, the owner of these lyrics (tupac) also died? Hmm

Nigerians and their government has failed to realize that was it is called economic protectionism where the sole interests of the citizenry is paramount. But, what do we have here, as long as 'I' can reap the benefits of this deal 'I' don't care what impact it makes on others.
Thus, foreign manufacturers have equally treated us with impunity because we are selfish, greedy and lacks patriotism.
We should ask ourselves, how many manufacturers do we have in Nigeria as compared to South Africa and we are undoubtedly the biggest spender in Africa. I weep for this nation.

We are living in a country where the citizens and firmly bonded with a taste for luxuries and sophisticated gadgets, imagine some senseless Nigerians buying a driverless car and use it in a country where some streets are not documented in the map ,thanks for fashola for properly documentation of Lagos streets and making it extremely easy to identify border and spot our destination from the point of travel but our many states can do this at a point that a governor has declared friday as a public holiday for civil servants to farm simply because he can't pay salaries again.
