THE 10 TYPES OF PEOPLE YOU MEET DURING EXAM TIME



During exam time, some interesting students come out of the woodwork. Exam time can bring out particular traits in people who are quickly recognizable. Have you met any of these people during exams?

1. THE OVER-ACHIEVER
For the Over-Achiever, exam time is their Christmas. It’s finally time for this student to show what they do best. All their hard work is about to pay off and they’re guaranteed to succeed.
The Over Achiever will be found in your college library every day, scribbling furiously into their stack of notes. They are most recognizable on the day of the exam, as they’ll eagerly state afterwards, “That was easier than expected!”

2. THE LAZY BONES
This student does pretty much no work for exams. You won’t see them in your library and you might see them in one or two classes. The Lazy Bones is identifiable by their uniform of tracksuit pants, unkempt hair and the likeliness that they will ask you for a pen.

3. THE PANICKY PERSON
The Panicky Person arrives extra early to the exam to make sure they find the right room. You’ll recognize this student upon arrival as they will be noticeable nervous and flustered. They’re likely to seat themselves somewhere beforehand in order to frantically revise everything and anything they can.

4. THE NOSEY NELLY
This student is incredibly irritating to many of us. The Nosey Nelly is identifiable after every exam. They’re likely to ask you questions such as “What was your answer for question 5?”, “Did you find the exam hard?”, they’ll ask you a variety of probing questions as the feign interest in your success.
Their motives are blaringly obvious, as the Nosey Nelly only wants to find out how well they did compared to you.

5. THE NATURAL GENIUS
The Natural Genius is a student who most of us probably envy. They seem to balance their social life, work and studies perfectly. They never appear to be stressed out or studying too much.
They’ll usually say, “I didn’t really study all that much” and you’ll know it’s true, as the Natural Genius will walk away from any exam having scored an impressively high mark.

6. THE GHOST CLASSMATE
You have never seen this student in any of your classes before, yet they mysteriously appear at every exam, and quickly disappear afterwards. You don’t know them, and they don’t know you, it’s likely you’ll never see them again.
Wait, maybe that student really is a ghost!

7. THE BROWN-NOSER
The Brown-Noser is one of the worst students who you’ll meet during exam time. They’ll be doing everything in their power to impress and suck up to their lecturers in the hopes of setting them apart from their fellow students.
The Brown-Noser is sickeningly sweet to every lecturer and it’s incredibly transparent.

8. THE CHEATER
The Cheater is an absolute pro. This student is seasoned and cheating in exams and achieving a passing grade.
They’ll arrive at the exam with notes up their sleeves and prompts written in places you wouldn’t imagine. They’ll have an air of sneaky confidence about them, and no one will ever find out they cheated.

9. THE FAKER
Most people hate this student, and if you are this student, then you need to re-evaluate your life. This student blatantly lies about how little they studied and how they are going to fail.
When they inevitably do well, they have a smug & condescending attitude towards their fellow students. The Faker is a real life troll during exam time.

10. THE SLEEPER
The Sleeper is the most easily identifiable student in this list. You’ll recognize this student quickly as they struggle to keep their exams open during the exam.
Whether they’ve pulled an all-nighter or they just need to sleep off the stress, the Sleeper will be battling the Sandman for the duration of exam time.
