I want to bring to the attention of the Imo State Government the nature of the road demarcations at Añara and Amaraku.

It was the good intention of the state government to demarcate these roads to ease traffic and curb road accidents. But one can fault some of the construction works there. It can be observed that the roads mentioned above are too narrow to be demarcated. Secondly, the roads are seriously bad. No sign to show that you are approaching a demarcated road.

Above conditions have made the demarcations to serve just the opposite of what it was meant to serve. No week passes without seeing one kind of accident or the other at these two mentioned demarcated roads. Some motorist that are not very conversant with the road find themselves hitting or climbing the demarcation platforms with speed thereby having great damages on their vehicles and sustain injuries. Most regular users are not also saved from this situation as we also see them falling victims of this, especially early morning users.

The State Government should look into this situation and consider either removing the demarcations pending when the road will be widened enough for such facility or she should embark on minor repairs on the road and visible signs be mounted to notify road users of the demarcations ahead.

We believe that our people oriented governor will not waste time in responding to this call to help secure the life of lmolites and her friends.

Am sure that road has been listed among the dualized roads imo by Rochas govt. They will take a path of road,place kerbs and demarcations on them and list them as dualized
