INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT UNDER AKOGUN LERE OYEWUMI ADMINISTRATION...

''If man is to live in a State of materials wellbeing that Technology can make possible, then give the finite resources of the planet for we are too many already....Gunnar Myrdal. Some basic yardstick for measuring the standard of living of a state or nation is not how many people are living in the state or nation but the correlation existing between their population and resources available or provided for their well-being.

As maxwell noted ''Leadership is the willingness to put oneself at risk'' immediately, Akogun Lere Oyewumi handle the mantle of leadership, he embarked of aggressive transformation agenda removing Ikire amd its environs from the era of infrastructure deterioration to meet up with the challenges posed by economic integration and diversification in both private and public sector. Akogun Lere Oyewumi's achievements includes:

*** Procurement of brand New Earth Roller for the Local Government

*** Procurement of brand New Grader for the Local government

*** construction and rehabilitation of roads. Tarring of roads with asphalt materials which includes Sunmoye- Obada road, Obada-Jolaiya-Sabo road, Itaakun-Popo road, Oke ola -Oluofinrin road, Iyana egba-Ayedaade road, Okiti Islamiya road, Itaakun - Molak junction, just to mention a few

*** Notable earth roads majorly linking the rural areas such as Ikire-Molarere-Jagun road, Ikire-Ajilo road, Agboora-Pai-Olode-Alaye road, Ayetooro- Arinkinkin road etc were regularly graded in what is referred to as ''Operation Keep Ikire motorable''

*** Construction of drainage facilities. Few among them include Oja ale-Oke Ola line drainage, Oke Ola-Oluofinrin, Olorisa oko-Oduduwa road, Popo Okin-Oosa drainage, Oke Ola line drainage, Iyana egba- Ayedaade road.

*** Construction of Bridges and Culverts: Numerous bridges and culverts were constructed by Akogun Lere Oyewumi Administration within the town and tbe rural communities. History will never forget Moosa bridge, Olufi bridge, Oduduwa-Kuogbo road bridge, Retaining wall at Naira and kobo, Retaining wall at Isale fiditi justto mentiona few

*** Akogun Lere Oyewumi secured the supply of 7.5KVA transformer to replace the old 2.5MVA at Ikire

*** 5 units of 500 KVA transformers were procured to cater for the growing suburb population and installed at different locations: Elere compound, sunmoye Ikire, Oja Ale, Oke Ada, Anajere Oluofinrin and Islamia junction Ikire.

*** Fencing of installed transformers through out Irewole local government Ikire to ensure safety of the citizens

*** General electrification of Irewole LG with concrete poles, cables and extensions. Among them includes Labimson-Agala road, Atoto road, Unity-Secretariat-Olowopooku road, Moosa area, Ori Olori-Falabi farmand hosts of numerous ones executed

*** Procurement of generating plants. About 36 units of generating plants were distributed to rural community heads in 2005. Many chiefs of notable profile equally benefited from Akogun's philanthropic gestures.

*** Procurement and Installation of A 100KVA mikano power generating set at Irewole LG Secretariat,Ikire. A lister power plant was also installed each at High Court Ikire, and the office of the National Vetenary institute within the council premises

*** Payment of debts to Oyo state Water Corporation incurred by the community.

*** Over 200 units of public taps were constructed through out the 9 wards in the town

*** About 250 units of deep wells were sunk by the administration through out the 11 wards of the local government

*** Boreholes were constructed at Odeyinka, Olode Falola, Dede village and Akinropo, just to mention a few. This pratical achievement won the Local government a pass mark with another 250units of Borehole financed by RUWESA in conjunction with UNICEF in 2010

*** Construction of over 20 units of bus stop to streamline the operation of motorist and Okada riders in the town, while those constructed along rural areas was to provide shelter to the village dwellers and traders when transporting their farm produce to the town. Bus stops were constructed at sunmoye junction, Ako garage, Odofin village, Aganta, Pai, Orita nla, Jaeanso, Wasinmi, Egbuu and Balogun to mention but a few.

Akogun Lere Oyewumi builds, creates and embarked on infrastructural development. He improves transportation infrastructure; that creates economic development, puts people back to work and, most important, enhances safety and improves the community welfare and structures. With the current situation, we need a leader like Akogun Lere Oyewumi, who believe that without a sense of caring, there can be no sense of community....
