The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps said on Thursday that the dialogue approach adopted by the Federal Government with militants would end the ongoing bombings of oil facilities in the Niger Delta. The NSCDC Commandant General, Abdullahi Muhammadu, gave the assurance while speaking to journalists in Minna. “The Federal Government has commenced negotiations with some of the aggrieved militants in the region on the need to sheath their swords and embrace peaceful resolutions of all perceived grievances that led to the bombings of oil pipelines in the region. “To the best of my knowledge, I think the Federal Government is already negotiating with them. “At the last meeting we had, we discussed at length and very soon all these bombings will come to an end. “The government is trying to negotiate with them with a view to finding out why they are doing it so in order as to get to the root of the problem.’’ Muhammadu explained that the government chose the option of dialogue with the militant groups in order not to send a wrong signal to the international community on some of the happenings in the country. “You know we are in a democratic setting, so we have to be very careful of what we do. “After the first bombing, second bombing and the third bombing, we were sent there and we did our job there to find out some things. “During the period of our assignment, we went on a fact-finding mission and we came back with some facts which I will not disclose to you now. But I am sure it will soon come to an end,’’ he said.

Even if you settle them now, another group will come up tomorrow. Why not treat the root cause Regionalism, self rule is the only solution. We contribute together for military, etc but individually manage our economy, health, education etc.

You will make a bad economic adviser undecided......this is the kind of advise Buhari is getting that's why we have the 97% and 5% issue.

Sometimes it's all abt dialogue.

I'm not a big fan of Buhari but I like his approach. He is trying to do everything possible first to give the supporters of the militants no point when he starts wielding the other option - full military operation.
Buhari that is known would be willing to see a military action take place in that region. And crying may be too late if it ever gets to that.

FG now in the process of negotiating with the militants.

May be we should not be too hasty to take vital decision in any capacity we find ourselves.

Imagine FG now negotiating with the CRIMINALS
It would have been nice if such words were not used to describe them by the president .

Same process of negotiations the opposition then condemned past administration.

As much as we should look into the "militants " terms of agreement, their approach has bastardise their agitation with no justification.
Any one who take up alms against his state is a criminal even if his demand is genuine.

Their act is criminal in nature.
What happen if every groups in all regions take up alms cos they want their needs met.
The little peace we enjoy will be evade.

There are better ways of getting your needs and not destruction of facilities or becoming economy saboteurs.
