The Eleme Youth Council (EYC), in Eleme Local
Government Area of Rivers State, has denied
claims by a militant group in the Niger Delta
region, the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) that it
blew up a pipeline belonging to one of the
multinational oil companies operating in the
area.
The NDA had in a statement posted on its
Facebook page, Niger Delta Avengers on Wednesday,
claimed responsibility for blowing up a Nigeria
National Petroleum Corporation, (NNPC)
pipeline at Eleme, leading to the Nigeria
Liquefied National Gas (NLNG) in Bonny Island.
“By 3.00 am, yesterday, Strike Team 2, carried
out a major strike, bombing NNPC pipeline at
Eleme leading to NLNG. You won’t stop us,” the
group had said.
But speaking to newsmen in Port Harcourt
yesterday, President of EYC, Prince Brian Emere
Gokpa, described the report by the militant
group as a figment of the imagination of
mischief makers, who want to portray Eleme in
bad light.
He said, “The attention of Eleme Youth Council
World-wide has been drawn to an online
publication that the Niger Delta Avengers blew
up pipelines in Eleme local government area.
This information is not true; it is unfounded and
baseless. It is the imagination of mischief
makers whose aim is to project Eleme as a
terrible local government area.”
The EYC President also called on youths in the
area to embrace peace and abstain from
criminal activities, saying, “Eleme local
government area is relatively peaceful and no
person or group of persons should give false
alarm about security situation in the area.
“Let me use this medium to warn all criminal
elements in the area to desist from such acts as
the council and the youth body will not fold
their hands and watch miscreants take over our
local government area as we have the capacity
to confront any crime in Eleme local
government area.”

Like the people of the northeast have done to boko haram with all their atrocities? Stop wishing and read the hand writing on the wall, just as many northerners are in support og boko haram by their silence, so are many niger deltans in support of their action, you may not believe me, but that's the truth.

Exactly. In the beginning BH does not attack civilian population but the security forces. The people thought they'll never be a target. But with time BH started attacking Christians, then Muslims and finally everybody.
The claim by ND Sca(m)vengers that they don't and won't attack the military and civilians is all hogwash. Give them time, they'll start with attacking those in the delta that are against them. When the military moves in, they'll shift on to the masses whom they'll accuse of cooperating with the security forces.
For the civilians it would be a double tragedy, being hammered by the military for knowing the militants and the militants accusing them of aiding the security forces. It is then they'll start chasing the militants and forming vigilante groups to expose and protect themselves from the militants. Unless the violence is halted, this scenario is what's going to replay. Pointer to this is, other Nigerians have begun to accuse the deltans of knowing the Sca(m)vengers and protecting them.

If you're a Niger deltan and you believe in what the avengers are doing. Are you not surprised that they are yet to blow danjuma, atiku, abacha's oil facilities as they threatened to...if you no sabi the truth with this you can never be free from their deceit.
