Medic abducted during surgery

A medical doctor, Charles Attah, was, on Tuesday, kidnapped while performing an appendectomy at the Aku General Hospital in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State.

An eye-witness told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu that Attah's kidnappers stormed the hospital on Sunday in a Peugeot car and picked him unchallenged.

The witness said the kidnappers, who were dressed in suits, shot sporadically on arrival to scare people before taking their victim who was performing the operation on a female patient.
When contacted, the Enugu Police Command's Spokesman, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, said he was yet to receive details of the incident from the Igbo-Etiti Police Division.

He said, however, that the police had intensified efforts to combat incidences of kidnapping in the state.

and then when we want to protest and go on strike because we are not being adequately catered for, you people will say we lack professionalism. dunno what tis country is turning into. had he already started the appendectomy?
