Last night was a dramatic one. Reports reaching us suggests that lots of students were assaulted and robbed off their belongings around the road close to the school park. Shops were looted and pandemonium broke out. Contrary to the rumours spreading around school, an eyewitness we spoke with this morning reported that he couldn't see much but took to his heels when a vehicle carrying a large number of suspected hoodlums suddenly stopped by. "Everyone at the park ran like hell. Most of us ran towards the hostel. I didn't know why they were chasing us but they chased us at full speed." A Man O' War representative informed us that they were on their normal patrol that night around CCE building when a car at full speed knocked down a motorbike conveying their Commander in Chief(C in C). This info as reported by the command was corroborated by other eye witnesses present at the scene in real time. The C in C was reported to have angrily queried the rationale of the said car driver's recklessness. According to reports reaching us, the drivers reply was rude and he showed no sign of remorse for his action. Some men stepped out of the vehicle and a scuffle between both parties ensued. Fortunately Chidebere Nwakali the brother of Kelechi Nwakali, a new signing for Arsenal football club left the vehicle unscathed. However, The Man O' War C in C was left heavily bruised from a matchet cut. The matter was later settled between both parties thanks to the timely intervention of a 3rd party (name withheld). When everything seemed to be finally settled, a vehicle coming from Ihiagwa suddenly swooped in, parked at the road around the school park, and out came about 6 hefty men who immediately began an unsolicited assault on any student at sight. Soon, they advanced to the hostels. Some Man O' War had to follow them up to keep the hostels safe. According to eyewitnesses at the hostels, the armed hoodlums were able to steal from a number of students before the Man O' War intervened. Chidebere Nwakali's vehicle was heavily vandalised. Eziobodo indegenes (Nwakali's people) are said to be pointing accusing fingers at the school's Man O' War Command with respect to the vandalised vehicle. In defence, the Man O' War Command denied any involvement in the vandalism. They claimed that it was a set up by the hoodlums who also vandalised another car. The Man O War also denied claims that Nwakali was ever harassed. Currently, the Dean, Students Affairs Unit has said he would be coming out with an open statement.
