He said:“The Igbo man does not believe in destruction. They suffered so much during the Nigeria civil war and they have not recovered from effects of that war. They believe in the unity of Nigeria, but the inequitable distribution of amenities, which is not in their favor, is what is driving the agitation. Once they are properly recognized and given a sense of belonging in the country, the whole world will see that Igbo people love Nigeria. If they are given good roads, jobs and treated fairly and equitably in the distribution of appointments, there would not be any agitation and this is certain. When the people drive on the dilapidated Onitsha – Enugu road, Oba – Nnewi – Okigwe road, Aba – Port Harcourt road, Owerri – Port Harcourt road, Enugu – Umuahia – Aba road which are all federal roads and watch the way appointments are being made in the country, naturally they should be agitated.” Meanwhile, the relentless agitation for the sovereign state of Biafra has moved President Muhammadu Buhari to set up a presidential committee to look into the activities of pro-Biafra groups in the country, particularly those of Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). According to the Sun, the president few weeks ago called for a meeting which had in attendance former president Olusegun Obasanjo, top government functionaries and other stakeholders over the security threats posed by pro-Biafra groups.

Political marginalisation or not, performing governors or not, self-determination remains an inalienable right of ANY people.

It's baffling how some ethnic groups are desperately trying all tricks at their disposal to have Igbos in the same country with them and yet they callously sanction the great injustices and evils being perpetrated in the polity. Yet they approve and hail the criminalisation and killings of peaceful IPOB protesters.

They hate Igbos more than Boko-Haramists and the Islamic Jihadists. They are more worried with the clamour for self-determination than the systematic ethnic cleansing and the unconscionable, cold-hearted waste of human lives in the North and South by the Jihadists and marauders.

Why do you think the government and those who have criminally benefitted and still benefitting from this contraption are quick to threaten war and resort to violence as a means to quelling a genuine agitation as against opting for a simple referendum?

No one has got the moral right to impose on another his/her self-centred way of reasoning.

Even with the promise of presidency come 2019/2023 from certain quarters, Igbos are comfortable having a separate existence.
