Can you see how your argument sounds? Yes, we are in a bad situation of importation, but the solution is not to encourage illegal activities. If they know what they are doing, they should apply for legal license and if they qualify, then they can build their refinery. I have a friend burnt from kerosene stove explosion because of improper kerosene product. I pray you never fall victim.

I agree that illegal miners up north should be dealt with, one problem with Nigeria is that we have abandoned all other mineral resources and focus mainly on oil that is why things like this are happening. Nobody care abt what those illegal miners up north are mining, what we care abt is oil, wich is loosing it value. but this topic is abt bunkering Down south. But the likes of u n ur type bring tribal sentiment in every issue concerning Nigeria.

Don't you think the government can in anyway turn the tables by creating legit refineries out of these already illegal ones, so they wouldn't have to steal the crude oil as you rightly put it?

What has this question got to do with stealing crude oil? Vandalising pipelines? Polluting the envt?.. When pipelines are vandalised in bid to steal crude oil, even the Nations refinery will fail.

I am talking crude oil not drugs.Did you carryout investigation to know whether the illegal refineries operators refined the kerosene that caused the explosion whether the gallon the kerosene was stored had fuel inside it before?

There is notin like illegal refineries, it is just a big drum they put crude oil inside then they over heat the drum, get some few product such as PMS which will knock down ur vehicle if u use them, kerosene which is very explosive. Then they throw away the remaining product, in the river or on the ground which will in turn cause more pollution. And people like u will still be crying oil company is polluting our land, and u encourage these so called illegal refineries.

When u hear illegal refineries, do u think it is actually a refinery with equipment and standard machine. Wat these guys do u destroy pipeline, steal crude oil, over heat the oil and extra PMS and probably kerosene, then throw away the remaining products. These refineries are not actually refineries, and the people don't buy the crude oil, they steal it, so it's illegal and they sud be arrested, I know someone that has lost his life during bunkering. It's not as easy as u think it is.

Nigeria is sick! Why destroy? What kind of mentality is that? In other countries, when something like this is found, they reshape it and make it good. Unfortunately this country doesn't know anything other than arresting, detaining. This is madness!
