guys i need your help i usually see an unsecured wireless connection in my area but anytime i connect it comes & goesSo in other words, it keep dropping connection. isnt it ? next time please tell us if Vista or XP. I"ll go XP because of it's popularity You can open Device Manager by double-clicking on the System icon in Control Panel, choosing the Hardware tab, and clicking Device Manager. look for network adaptor click on the +sign then uninstall click ok only do not tick the box! restart your computer then tr If you"re using Vista then let us know so that we can change the wireless power management settings. In addition to that the network is not even yours so dont expect much from your laptop Good luck! |

Leave firefox alone. It is not responsible for your predicament. I am still theorising that wireless performance on a vista system infected with virus is usually poor. I've not proven that yet. You might want to uninstall and re-install the wireless driver and try again. Right click my computer, click manage, device manager and look for network adapters. Click the plus sign and click the wireless adapter and un-install. Restart the system and try again. |

Firefox is not the problem to your wireless signal, do as the above poster as said and in addition scan your computer for virus. |

@mikesleek @Black_Revo you certertainly right. @poster try this may work may not but worth trying. right, get to network and sharing centre if you can on the left hand side look for manage network connection left or right click on wireless network connection properties, configure, power management and uncheck the box that says allow this computer to turn off this device to save power click ok for changes to register restart your laptop then test. just try this on my vista machine. if you have recently upgrade your O/S power management will not appear. just thought i mention it This will stop the wifi card from going into power mode hence stable connection. Good luck! |
