I understand your sentiments and emotions.

However, the plea bargaining is more effective with these big thieves than prosecution. They have amassed too much wealth that prosecuting them can drag for years without getting better returns even after successful prosecution. Imagine getting Omisore successfully jailed for five years after prosecution without getting him return the N1.3 billion!
...Gbammm! cool

What precedent is Buhari's Efcc trying to set here?
Are the telling us that, if you are a rich and powerful politician who embezzled public funds,
All you have to do is return part of the money and promise to pay the rest back installmentally,
And you will be let go by Efcc? .
Seems being jailed for stealing in this country only happens to the poor and powerless?

it's nt economicaly vaible to prosecute all those looters. We're in a recession and we need all the money we can get.
If we try to jail all of them the cases will take years with appeals and delay tactics. You cant start spending the money when the is still on. And Efcc is also spending millions on legal counsels.
So u see, d govt is in a delima. If only those looters had jus leave our yam alone

Nop I do not agree, if you steal and found guilty, go to jail, no one should be bigger that the lawas of the land, unless they are not telling us the full story here
it more like agree you returned some money and we will never bother you again or else EFCC would be o n your case for the next 10 years.

But he claimed he didn't receive any money!

See life! These privileged few including FFK, Mettuh, Dasuki, Bafarawa, Diezanni, Akpobolokemi and many others too numerous to name PRACTICALLY STOLE OUR FUTURE when they held sway (which is actually now our today). They all first denied any wrongdoing but are now returning or willing to return money!

Whether we all agree or not, the fact remains that the state of our economy today is LARGELY a result of the senseless looting under the watch of GEJ. The loss of earnings as a result of drop in crude sale and militancy only compounded our problems brought on us by those looters.

To make things worse, PMB, though a very sincere leader, is too slow in taking certain decisions that could have lessened the impact of our past poor choices/decisions. I wish he can be more bullish at tackling the economy. For example, why can't the government inject recovered loots into the economy? What about the money mopped through the TSA? I am sure our president can do far better than he is currently doing.
That is why the Obas prayed defeat into his life with their staff of office and he said Amen, he was drinking Ogogoro in the villa and all his associates where busy eating yams with red oil, looting with reckless abandon,Buhari might be slow but lets be sincere, the damage done on the economy by PDP for 16 years cant be corrected within 4 years, l wish we lived in a saner clime 80 % of our politicians both in the APC and PDP will all be in Kuje drinking garri with jail terms of about 10 or more years angry angry

With our existing law, we will hardly be able to prosecute a single one of them. The best option for now is plea bargain until we are able to review anti graft law for speedy completion of trials.

In any case they have spent most of the money. To return the money is more beneficial to us and the prosecution. The year before election would see many big men going to jail: this APC master card for winning the heart of Nigerians.

For now , I think we should do with that .. The thiefry was just tooo much , if you say you gonna jail them , money will not be refunded, because they know at the end of the day , they will be locked up .. Am not saying this is good though , but let's make use of this to mop up funds and send a message to others ..

The lost Jews won't have shortage of leaders whenever they finally get their imaginary country. They have enough naturalize leaders in Fayose, FFK, Omisore, Falae and Obanikoro. Dasuki will manage their security apparatuses and saraki will head their parliament....

Well, we know the Efcc will not have problems publishing this one because it's PDP.

Yet the same government will have issues publishing the names of others they claimed returned money.

Let them recover all the money
Re: Iyiola Omisore Refunds N100m To EFCC by Kazrem(m): 5:47pm On Jul 24, 2016
3 things to say:
1. Returning 1m and pledging to return the remaining 1.2b shows he admitted the allegation.

2. Where are the wailers? What do they have to say to this?

3. If you corporate with EFCC, they will corporate with you.

Bullshit!! Are you telling me Dasuki money is the only public money FFK, Falae, Omisore, Metuh have collected in their careers as politicians? It is precisely because these people have stolen so much monies that this is not all of those stolen monies that is being recovered even when they agree to return and so when you hold a thief you make sure you end his thieving career. Secondly agreeing to return and returning are 2 different things, you and I know the Nigerian way...they will stall and stall. Most importantly however is that unless theft of public monies is rewarded with a criminal conviction, these people are still free to hold public office.

If you allow them to return money they will regard it as a cost of doing business and will only regroup and comeback to loot more. The only true deterrent is full prosecution and a criminal record which bars them and potential looters from public office. These are career politicians, the inability to be a politician is the only language they will understand.
