It is no doubt that the once-upon-a-time dominant and undisputed world number one Roger Federer, is no longer at that height. He has however maintained his standards and keeps producing sublime tennis. One of the perks of his illustrious career is he hardly got troubled by injuries but as he has grown older he has had to take things easy to maintain his fitness. This year however, he has missed a large chunk of calendar due to back and knee injuries. He will be forced to miss out the upcoming Rio Olympics games and the rest of the year as doctors have advised in order to be fit and continue carrying on.

At 35, Federer is a veteran of the sport and if these injuries continue to plague him, isn't it better he just retired from the game on a good note rather than see himself humbled and humiliated in front of opponents he should win against or keep skipping prestigious tournaments?

For a player as fine as Roger, injury should be last thing that should stain his fine career.
