It is too early to determine whether or not the pipeline bandits were near or far from the villages occupied by innocent civilians, when the naval and/or aerial shelling commenced. Over the next few days, it will become clear whether those killed in this assault were criminals, villagers or a combination of both the guilty and the innocent.
Going by the reputation of Nigeria's military, I won't be surprised if a large number of the casualties were civilians.. Not quite sure they had an ground surveillance or intel on the militants/criminals in this creek. You know how backward our military his.. They ll just claim collateral damage since the army in advanced countries also hide their inept as collateral damage too
