4kings:I agree that the belief in Eusebius' possible interpolation is warranted and this is the major reason why scholars in the 19th century doubted the testimonium flavanium since Eusebius was the first to quote the text, but with other manuscripts such as the Arabic manuscript devoid of reference to Jesus as messaiah or other possible Christian interpolation, it is more reasonable to believe that an original core existed which was then interpolated, the original remained but additions were made to it to make it align with Christian beliefs. But you can hold on to your belief though if you so which, we agree to disagree. |

Farmerforlife: Where do you get names to copy? This is getting out of hand. Stop it. For every atheist thread there are these mentions. Not interested! Update your name list to people who *want* to be mentioned or expect things to turn unfriendly. There are enough atheists to go round. Call those ones. |

Anas09: Seriously, where do they compile these lists from? Everyday some noob atheist is dragging out names with illogical topics full of disjointed ideas. Just look at this one. |

Bolt000 Stop putting names on sunk threads. If you need commenters, call up your atheist crew. You honestly think people who aren't atheists should be interested in an atheist thread? Either you start a thread people want to view, or you keep it to yourself. You've no business mentioning people up and down. |

4kings: Exactly, Google is our friend, thats why I would prefer a more reliable one from here, gotten from census: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_in_Nigeria Than the type u got from a site with obvious interests. Hehehhehe, Lol Google is ur friend |

Re: An Athiest View/arguement Against Christianity. by 4kings: 1:55am On Aug 05, 2016 |
felixomor:OK then replace what I stated with 50 then. I was trying to make a point to ebuka, besides I am not a muslim so I don't care about the population of Muslims in Nigeria, so again u can replace the value, and see the point I was trying to make. |
Re: An Athiest View/arguement Against Christianity. by felixomor: 2:03am On Aug 05, 2016 |
4kings: My bro, even if u replace it with 50, ur statement will still be wrong. Sorry |
Re: An Athiest View/arguement Against Christianity. by 4kings: 2:05am On Aug 05, 2016 |
felixomor:How? |
Re: An Athiest View/arguement Against Christianity. by felixomor: 2:08am On Aug 05, 2016 |
4kings: Because when u use that same wikipedia, and check the christian population and other religions, u will see that ur statement is wrong, percentage wise. U get? |
Re: An Athiest View/arguement Against Christianity. by 4kings: 2:24am On Aug 05, 2016 |
felixomor:OK, lemme say this in ISRAEL the percentage of Christians 2% of which most are Arab christians (Greek Orthodox), while Muslims make up 17.5%*modified* (source Wikipedia). But no christian would admit that ISRAEL is an Islamic country. The point I was driving at can be gotten if u regard what I just said and read again my response to ebuka. So do u get me now? |
Re: An Athiest View/arguement Against Christianity. by felixomor: 2:36am On Aug 05, 2016 |
4kings: Bros, rest. u cant say this is Isreal, ur statement was wrong, period. Stop substituting, just to make urself right. Moreover, Isreal is a unique country which everybody knows how they were formed. U cant also use the percentage of country religions as a narrative to the argument, Because country population and statistics of distribution of a awardees are not the same type of samples. Statistically speaking. |
Re: An Athiest View/arguement Against Christianity. by 4kings: 2:48am On Aug 05, 2016 |
felixomor:That's my point, I wasn't substituting I was presenting an allegory, and apparently I thought the websites statistic was right(my bad), I wouldn't have used it. We have 'popularly distinguished geniuses'(a few) in different fields today & of time past, but we also brilliant minds at all levels of accomplishment. My argument was that most of those 'distinguished geniuses' are irreligious and I also mentioned some of their names. |

KingEbukasBlog:Not to cause any much argument, but remember from what I wrote in my first post that I knew u would bring up the Nobel laurettes, I was just presenting my argument in another view. |
Re: An Athiest View/arguement Against Christianity. by felixomor: 3:01am On Aug 05, 2016 |
4kings: But when u use the word "most", u r making a statistical claim. And where is ur reliable backup for that, U cant just make such statement and give few examples. Give ur statistical source. At least there are statistical backups for data on religious intellectual achievements. And he gave u one. |

Re: An Athiest View/arguement Against Christianity. by 4kings: 3:16am On Aug 05, 2016 |
felixomor:Ahhhhhhh I knew he was going to give that same statistics according to my first post, I was just coming from another perspective. Like it is generally known religion has been very predominant among ALL, in time past. But we know of guys like Galileo whose mission was considered heretical in his time, Pythagoras, Aristotle, Einstein, Karl Marx and co, this guys(distinguished) have led men from the freedom of primitive accustomed views to the state of knowledge the world is correctly in, and they're are all irreligious. That's why I mentioned names emphasis on 'distinguished' again. Talking about statistics, Japan and China for example that are at the forefront of technological advancement are mostly irreligious, but I won't want to go further in any argument. |

Re: An Athiest View/arguement Against Christianity. by Nobody: 9:03am On Aug 05, 2016 |
Honestly op, I'm disappointed, the majority of the points you stated were not valid arguments against Christianity (some were) and those Christian 'scholars' would have an easy time providing rebuttals because even I can pretend to be a Christian for a few minutes and provide logical arguments for Christians, for some of tge points. What I was expecting were really strong arguments that really bring out the foolishness of Christianity |
