Governor Obiano Spotted Cleaning Onitsha Gutters Today.

Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano of Anambra State today flagged-off a Special Clean Up campaign for the commercial city of Onitsha and its environs and personally inspected sanitation exercise in many parts of the gateway town. For the second time in less than 2 months, the Governor took a Shovel, Wheel Barrow and other tools to Personally flag off the clean-up exercise.

As Anambra aims to become one of the Cleanest States In Nigeria, the governor moved from Abuja Park, Upper Iweka to Okpoko by Sachamori Road; then St. Francis Axis by Owerri Road followed by a stop at Mbonu Ojike by Miss Elems PH Road; then Oguta Road by QRC; and then Borromeo Junction to Afor- Nkpor.

Obiano who personally led the clean up exercise with shovel and wheel barrow said,

"This is part of our awareness campaign to encourage the people to do a major clean up of their environment at least one hour every Saturday... If your doorsteps are clean and mine is clean, everywhere will be clean".

Obiano also officially flagged off the de-silting of Sachamori, a huge drainage channel passing through Onitsha & Ogbaru into the Niger River, which has been blocked for decades thereby causing flooding in the area.
