The Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, on Tuesday explained that the Federal Government opted for a conservative borrowing plan to fund the critical sectors of the economy and to ensure that future generation is not saddled with the burden of debt payment.

The Minister, who described borrowing as inevitable in view of the current realities in the nation’s economy, spoke at a town hall meeting/policy dialogue for good governance organised by the Alumni Association of the National Association of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture in Abuja.

Stressing the urgent need to fund infrastructure, Adeosun said: “We have to invest in our infrastructure to allow the private sector to thrive, which will create jobs and unlock the economy.

“We have to adopt a very conservative borrowing programme, but we must borrow because for us to do rail, we need funds.
“Eith other needed infrastructure we need funds.”

It's ignorance, illiteracy, lack of understanding of how governance works and sheer hatred that could make anyone think that repairing damage of 16 years can happen in a year or 2.

C'mon.
Stop deceiving yourself.

The Nigeria of 2015 was 100 times better than the Nigeria of 1999 in every measurable index, in every imaginable way.

To say " 16 years of damage" implies that Nigeria was actually good or better 16 yrs ago before the advent of the PDP regimes.

Is that your assertion Sir?
Really ?

Can you honestly stand up and repeat to toddlers that Nigeria was in a golden era before the last 16 years ?

Your irrational and very DISHONEST statements should be a great embarrassment to the genuine people who actually support this government.

If Nigerians follow this APC's catastrophic type of change, none of us will be alive when they have arrived their destination. This is damnable bondage.Remember they borrow to fund the grossly over padded budget. When & how will this money be paid back in the background of falling revenue from a monoeconomic oil dependence? Let's not mortgage our future survival with these new sets of crooked saints.

Please, can somebody tell her for me that I say "her fada two left legs" does she know what it means to go the whole day without food? Yes change can be painful, but at least you must be able to see where the change is leading to.

7 gbosaaa for u!

You tell them, pleeeez!

Every time I hear that 16 years I feel the power of their propaganda.

Even the people repeating it has ATM and GSM. Was there any ATM in Nigeria in 1999? Was there GSM?

Ok, you can use signs of first year to judge how 4 or 8 years next will be.

So, someone tell me, what has this govt brought? Even if it is a plan, just a plan, say it. 15months, nothing but blame, blame, blame.

Do your own, you are in charge now
