Is sharing SUV's the problem of the former governors even if it is their constitutional right. The money used in buying SUV's can be channelled to other areas. Use it to construct boreholes in communities pay pensioners, give scholarships for best primary school students or use it to renovate the dilapidated schools. God Bless Nigeria....

From the post, the Hon. Minister is aggrieved by the law enacted by Ebonyi state house of assembly technically denying him his due pension as a former Governor of Abia state(He's from a part that was formally in Abia state.) Hence the man has felt cheated hence his rejection of the car gift.



Note: the former law read "A Governor OF or FROM Ebonyi state", while the new law reads " A Governor OF Ebonyi state."
Onu was never governor of Ebonyi state... This is the issue.

He rejected the car simply because he has been unfairly treated by the Ebonyi State Government by denying him of his entitlements as a former Governor of the State.

All he wants from Gov. Umahi is to ensure his pension is duly paid and the Law prohibiting such payment to be repealed.

Why should Onu or any former govnor, still in the active service, be receiving pensions??
