Zanetti is having a great game in the midfield and having too much time on the ball.

haha. I'm watching the barca game.

I don't have beef with English teams. I just think Fiorentina at home will be hard for anyone to beat. It's those Gooners that like to cry and whine all the time that i like yabbing. Their petulance makes them an easy target grin grin

Liverpool slipping again. Can't string passes together.
Heck, 4 purple shirts were on Torres alone there.

Babel on, Insua off.
He just might provide the assist for Torres' goal.

Very. And so young.

Voronin on, Kuyt off. Rafa thinking attack.  .  .
Woulda preferred both on simultaenously though.

See wahala. . .Jovetic was the one that kicked Lucas.
Re: Champions League: Fiorentina - Liverpool,2-0 On Tuesday 29th September 2009 by Cristalz(f): 9:30pm On Sep 29, 2009
Poor. Liverpool are just a buncha wobbly legs and arms in front of Fiorentina's goal.
Re: Champions League: Fiorentina - Liverpool,2-0 On Tuesday 29th September 2009 by tocdee(m): 9:31pm On Sep 29, 2009
This is painful viewing! Why o why didn't Liverpool play like this in the first half?

Babel usually is. Rafa underestimates him a lot.
Painful loss though, I agree. Fiorentina's defended very well indeed, and your guys haven't done anything really special attack-wise.
Ref's a minor dolt.

Return leg will be bloody. Will definitely not miss it.

Next for Liverpool is the in form Lyon, who beat Fiorentina 1-0 on matchday 1, and have demolished Debrecen 4-0 in Budapest. shocked

Aw, check the stats out. Liverpool did fight in 2nd half. Pity they couldn't break the purple wall.
Re: Champions League: Fiorentina - Liverpool,2-0 On Tuesday 29th September 2009 by illusion2: 9:51pm On Sep 29, 2009
Lets face it. . . .we (Liverpool) will qualify from that group ,come what may. . . .Fiorentina have probably gotten as many points as they'll ever get from either us or Lyon.

Quite sad we didn't quite click & certainly not the kind of result you wanna take to Stamford bridge , .but as always:

It's all Rafa's fault, really. What exactly was the big idea bragging about Torres being in form, Torres going to do this and that? Dude practically laid his game plan on the ground for all to see.
Result: Four - 1,2,3,4 - four men were always on Torres. Made sure he couldn't do a damn thing. I thought they were going to break his legs at some point.
Rafa should start seriously thinking about having a backup plan for the Torres-Gerrard combo. Becoming quite predictable. And he should learn to shut his gob before games too.

Any loss in football can ultimately be traced to the team's manager, however Rafa never 'bragged' about Torres being in form (I stand to be corrected with valid refs) ,after the Hull City game he said, yes El Tor  is on fire, but still had to improve.

Back-up to Torres wasn't the issue in this Fiorentina game ,we simply didn't click today especially in mid-field, the absence of Mascherano certainly had some part in this.

Every team has its joker,. . . . . . . ,  for the past few seasons, the main difference btw MANURE (your team  tongue) and other EPL teams was Ronaldo ,it was all about Drogba+Lampard with Chelski,Messi-Xavi for Barca. . . .so nothing wrong with Torress-Gerrard.  wink

Something is wrong when that is plan A, B, C and D. That's a fact!

how is it Plan A,B,C&grin?? We shouldn't play with our best players or what? You win some, you lose some . . . thats the fact of life. . .we got beat today. . , . . . . we pick up from here & go back to the drawing board.

How many games did MANURE win last season with a Ronaldo free kick, penalty or header? Does that mean they'll stop playing him??

The manager can get tactics wrong, but you can't assume its all becos of one or two players. . . . .

Y'know the beauty about United? Versatility. Versatility that actually works.
Fergie can decide to play Rooney on the wing, Berba in MF,  Giggs and Owen up front and goals would still flow in. Now that's what we call a plan B. Defenders remain unsure who exactly to mark, who exactly to look out for.
Fergie can still remix his team in 2 more different ways without Rooney being up front and still win games.
Unpredictability.  .  .opponents don't always know what to expect.

Ronaldo's case was a foregone one. . .what gaffer in his right mind wouldn't assign 3 men to one of the world's best players?

Rafa, on the other hand, has got Torres-Gerrard. End of. Nothing else. Worse, everybody knows that. So when teams want to play Liverpool, their main worry is how to stop Torres and Gerrard. Heck, do they even bother with Gerrard? Strong teams just lock Torres down and life becomes smoother.

My point is, there should be some sorta variety in attack, not the same old plan day in, day out. Predictability is never good for any team. Look at Chelsea as well.  .  .that same versatility exists. Their players interchange roles smoothly. You can't just predict where and how exactly they plan to play. They adapt their style as the game proceeds.

Liverpool don't do that. As for the MF issue, does it mean the team will always lose when Javier doesn't play? See why I say y'all lack versatility?

As for Rantin' Rafa, na today? grin You should know your gaffer better.

Enough to make SAF realise he's not indispensable and sell him for a rocket-full of ££££  grin grin grin grin. Here's a fact to chew on, Rafa has no drawing board, he only has a little notepad where he writes little facts about other people's plans.

Akwasi:

Ghana 4 England 0 grin

So?

Dont get ahead of yourself. Lets see how you do in the next three matches (against Lyon 2x, and away to Debrecen) before making plans for the group stages. Lyon are fully capable of beating you in both matches, and getting points off Debrecen in Budapest might turn out to be more difficult than it seems at first.
The group is still wide open, and any two of Lyon, Liverpool and Fiorentina, are capable of making it through at the expense of the third.
