As early as Last year (2015), Phones started coming out with 4K Cameras and Screen resolutions. Canon’s 5D Mark IV features of a touchscreen and 4K video shooting mode shows that the Smartphone world is really getting to them. This I suppose because there has been a longer wait between the release of the 5D Mark III and the 5D Mark IV that has is exactly a year longer,

The delay in producing Canon’s 5D Mark IV seems to show that Canon has taken time to study the market and I guess the 5DS and the 5DS R along with the study of Flagship Smartphone specs has guided Canon in the making of the 5D Mark IV.
