How can one sin against the holy spirit?

Please I'll like to know.

Thanks.

according to Hebrews 6:4-6 there are certain criterias that need to be met before going on the path of no redemption
1. Those who have been enlightened
2. Those who have tasted of the heavenly gift
3. Those who were made partakers of the Holy Spirit
4. Those who have tasted of the good word of God and;
5. Those who have tasted of the power of the age to come.
So if after you have had all this and you turn away from God it is impossible to be brought back into repentance.
You can read Hebrews chapter six to get my point

1. Believing your sin is too great and God cannot forgive you is unforgivable because you end up perishing in your sin.

2. Losing hope, going to a state of despair believing your condition can't be remedied by God and thus committing suicide is unforgivable. It amounts to say God is powerless to change your situation. Judas Iscariot suffered this fate. His betrayal was probably not greater than Peter's denial but instead of seeking God, he despaired and killed himself. Of course we know what Jesus said of him - 'It is better he had not been born'

3. Obstinacy in sin and dying in it is unforgivable. Lk. 13: 1-5 is a pointer to this.

4. Denying known truth, example that God exists ( that even devil exist) is unforgivable. How do you approach a God you don't believe exists for reconcillation when you don't even believe in his existence? If you don't believe devil exist, how will you avoid his antics? This is why I always pity so called atheists.

5. Refusing to repent on death bed when opportunity arises is unforgivable too. Ask that crucified Jesus' left hand thief where he is today. He didn't seize the opportunity he had to repent when the right hand thief was doing same.

The unforgivable sin is the sin against the Holy Spirit as Jesus has mentioned in the Scripture but the question now is, what acts constitute this unforgivable sin?
Lying against the Holy Spirit is an unforgivable sin. Example is lying that you speak in tongue when in truth you learnt the gibberish words you speak. Speaking in tongues can ONLY be given by the Holy Spirit to whoever He desires for a purpose. So, all those that claim to speak in tongues when actually they are saying some repeated words they learnt is a lie against the Holy Spirit which is unforgivable.
The Holy Spirit is the spirit of God that manifests God's power to mankind. It should not be joked with and thus must be reverenced with utmost respect and worship.

The unforgiveable sin has not changed from generation to generation. From the beginning of the world to the end of days.

Thou shall have no other god except God. The Lord thy God is One.

Associating partners to God (tops the list given to Moses, Jesus and Mohammad) Abraham said he would search for the true God and would worship Him.

God is One without partner, without comparison.

You can associate partners by giving powers that belong to God to people e.g the way we reference some prophets, MOG, some earthly kings etc. Anything that has and will taste death is human.

God bless you my dear. That is the unpardonable sin. Tasting the fullness of God and rejecting Him for the world.

you wrote rubbish. The Bible only stated that sin against the Holy Spirit is the only unforgivable sin

The unforgivable sin is defying the first commandment: Worshiping or calling upon a man or something beside God. Shine your eyes....... Do not ascribe partner to God. The Lord our God is one. Note: If you repent before dying, you will be forgiven.

The point for us is that if we have received Jesus as our Savior and Lord, we have not blasphemed the Holy Spirit; we have accepted His witness. One study Bible explains it as follows: “To commit this sin one must consciously, persistently, deliberately, and maliciously reject the testimony of the Spirit to the deity and saving power of the Lord Jesus.” If a person keeps doing that until death, there is no hope of forgiveness and eternal life in heaven.

Once again, the unpardonable sin is not some particularly grievous sin committed by a Christian before or after accepting Christ, nor is it thinking or saying something terrible about the Holy Spirit. Rather, it is deliberately resisting the Holy Spirit’s witness and invitation to turn to Jesus until death ends all opportunity.

God forgives all sins that man commits no matter what it is but knowing God's plan, seeing it working out and consistently kicking against it is UNFORGIVABLE!

WHY?

God will never come down to speak to anyone who sees and knows the activities of God's Holy Spirit yet speaking against it.

Jesus spoke of people that committed the unforgivable.
For instance, people in Noah's day:
They were all affected by the activities of the evil giants, they expected God to do something about it, so they're contemplating what God will do, Noah told them what God revealed to him, they didn't believe Noah but they saw him
©Building a big house of wood.
©Using materials to make it float on water.
©Gathering animals domestic and wild.
©Birds of the air went to join Noah in the Ark.

All these couldn't have been possible for any human without the backing of God's Holy Spirit working towards the plan to destroy those rebellious giants, so if anyone should open his mouth to speak against Noah's actions such a person is not sinning against Noah but against God's ACTIVE FORCE working with Noah! smiley
