CHAIRMAN, Benin Leaders of Thought (BLT) and Enogie of Obazuwa, His Royal Highness, Ovbioba Edun Akenzua, has described Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s decision to pick a Bini man, Godwin Obaseki as a governorship candidate for the APC without recourse to stakeholders from the Senatorial District as an act of godfatherism.

Akenzua, younger brother to the late Benin Monarch, Oba Erediauwa, in his personal capacity, told journalists in Benin yesterday that the actions of the governor ran foul of the collective resolve of the BLT who earlier fought as a common front to challenge what was then alleged as the overwhelming influence of Chief Tony Anenih in the politics of Edo South.

He said; “I did not support or like the idea of the governor imposing or picking anybody for the Benin people or Edo South because it was one of the things we enlisted and requested his alliance to help fight against, what they called godfatherism.’

“We must be the one to pick; we don’t want anyone outside Benin to pick for us. This has nothing to do with the personality he has nominated, for nominating any Edo Southerner for Edo South; I didn’t like that at all.

obaseki and oshiomole wants to provide 200,000 jobs in edo...when federal govt hs nt even provided 5000 jobs..what kinda bloody lie is this?this unrealistic goals will make apc loose.. look at ize iyamu's agenda simple and straightforward not some lies two ugly men are propagating..........so vote wisely sons and daughters of EDO

I think I quit agree with the monarch. The governor stood against godfatherism in all ramifications [during his first tenure electioneering] and the people supported him massively even for that reason alone. But now he's turned to the same godfather he vehemently opposed and overcame, so to speak.

Godfatherism is not all that bad in itself (in politics), but imposition is quite bad and that, we seriously hate.

Oshoimole has the right to support and Project any candidate of his choice. The APC had the party primaries in which Obaseki emerged the party flag bearer in main election. It is improper for anybody to talk of imposition of candidate. Our traditional rulers should learn how to be non partisan. Let the electorate decide come September 10th.

Even if Edo people want to vote for a person not a party, They will not vote the political pastor IZE IYAMU because he lack the credibility, he has a bad reputation, very sluggish, a pastor that recieves so called blessing from idol worshipers in the name of becoming a governor which will never happen.
The political pastor has forgetten so soon that he was part of the failed govt of Pdp for 10 yrs in Edo an administration that was characterised by corruption stealing of public fund, and conversion of public asset to personal property which was led by Lucky IGBINEDION and his father chief Igbinedion and Tony ANENIH.
What did Ize-IYAMU know about governmenance, can he and his Cohort govern a state?
Looking at those hungry failed, old recycled frustrated politicians moving arround with him you will understand what I mean when you see him, you see Chief Igbinedion a father of a criminal, Lucky Igbinedion, Tony Anenih a criminal, Friday Itulah a, Akhere Ogbesia a criminal.
Mike Ogiadomhe former deputy governor to a criminal, Lucky Igbinedion, Dan Orbih a crook with all these human disaster, as supporters, Ize-IYAMU will not only fail as a politician he will also fail woefully as a leader, because all he will be thinking about is to to please the hungry old recycled politicians .
Godforbid that Edo people will give Edo back to Chief Igbinedion and Tony Anenih that ruined Edo years ago again..It is the ignorant and fools in Edo State that will vote for Ize Iyamu..
