We are functioning country of course. Auditor general flagged the fines. Kenya and China differed on what debt relief meant. China insisted - we paid the fine - and continue to pay till now.

As late as this month - we just paid china 500M dollars.

Why would we default - and mess our country for 15yrs like Ghana

vaxx:
so I can believe the lies from your govt, why I must reject the fact from the sister agent that posted the evidence the same date your govt posted such lies
....

Note that both evidence were reported on the same date . The 13th of October 2022

The lunatic is at it again

You already have messed your country up and been in default for 5 years already and need another 15 years to bring issues under control... That's the major reason why you runned to the IMF.

Ghana can never go bankrupt like Kenya ... And that is why we can self finance major infrastructure projects and are doing more .
We may have strain and stretch our finances but will never go broke

Kenya can't afford to import food,
can't afford to import fuel
can't finance any infrastructure project,
dollars shortages and etc
It has to not borrow which means years of underdevelopment will continue for more years.

Thats how Bankrupt Kenya is
A broke country

Nobody will be lending to Ghana is a LONG WHILE.

Ghana’s debt crisis is affecting companies beyond its borders.

South Africa’s four biggest banks (four of the continent’s five largest) plan to write off as much as $270 million of their investments in the West African nation’s bonds. That equates to a haircut of almost 60% in some cases.

Standard Chartered has set aside $160 million.

Firms in Nigeria and elsewhere will also have to take losses as the Ghanaian government works to restructure about $30 billion of its public debt. The costs to local lenders will only be known later.

They are just some of the losers from Ghana’s debt meltdown. S&P Global Ratings forecasts haircuts on foreign securities of as much as 50%.

The nation isn’t alone in Africa in facing a debt crunch — Zambia and Ethiopia are also in talks to revamp obligations. But the gold and oil producer’s fall from grace from one of the continent’s top investment destinations came as a shock.

Good that it has come down . At first, fuel is just 180 naira , so if I say it has double the price, I am not far from fact . 300 naira is so little for a fuel in Nigeria . If they finnaly remove the subsidy on the fuel in Nigeria, be expecting your fuel to be around 600 to 700 naira . And Tinubu promised to removed it . Therefore you are going to pay more for fuel in some few months
How much is a litre of petrol in Ghana in naira terms?

There is no hope for Raila. Maybe he can make a good Tanzania president.

Maize again was 230 last year.

And Ruto cannot use magic to lower maize prices - farmers must plant maize - Azimio thought they were punishing Ruto kalenjin farmers when they cut fertilizer subsidy and refused to buy maize. They went around Eldoret - arresting large maize farmers and sellers.

The outcome - Maize prices went record high of 230.

And Raila-Azimio lost election.

Maize will only come down from June - when first harvest come in June from South Rift.

Tell you people to back and farm - not throw stones - and expect miracles in supermarrket.

It's a miracle there is still maize in that supermarket - because international market - white maize is expensive and not available

Azimio mess can never be attributed to Ruto. Ruto from this year harvest - things will be fine - because again fertilizer subsidy is working

Anyone intelligent like this guy knew you were going bankrupt. Now you're still delusional. Investor will take years to forget and forgive - 50% haircut - is 15B dollars. If Ghana gov is able to borrow - it will be very short term loan (treasury bills) with very expensive interest rate - only few risk takers will taker it.

Bright Simons
@BBSimons
In 2021 Kenya will spend ~15% of govt income servicing debt. Ghana will spend ~45%. Kenya went for an IMF loan of $2.4bn to be disbursed over 3 yrs at a ~2% interest rate. Ghana just borrowed $3bn at an avg rate of 8%+. 200,000 Kenyans are protesting. Ghana is celebrating. 🤷🏽‍♂️

It's too late to buy maize now for strategic reserves.
Maize millers cannot even find the maize.
Maize now is very expensive - because not a lot was planted - therefore farmers are making a kill

Azimio messed up big time and fell on it's sword.

Solution for maize subsector are well known. Ruto has done it before. He is also a maize farmer.

1) Give farmers cheap fertilizers & inputs. Then wait for six months.
2) As soon as they harvest - buy cheaply maize - about 4-5 million bags - store them in strategic reserves.
3) Leave the rest - about 40m bags - for millers to buy from farmers.

Whenever millers run out maize - release few thousands bags from strategic reserves - to smooth out supply issues.

Your AZIIMIO IDIOTS will not get it.
