Instead of linking the buyer to the seller ,you will solving a big problems if you can be doing the sourcing for the product on the behalf of the buyer if you don't want to end up like olx

99% of the auto parts and accessories suppliers on the www.autopartz.com platform are registered members of the market associations where they conduct their business. Hence, they are not kidnappers nor criminals.
These associations are well structured with central executives (Chairmen, Secretaries, PROs etc) that have well defined constitutions that take care of fraud related cases involving their members. When any of the auto parts suppliers is found wanting in fraud related cases, the goods or money in contention is retrieved, in some cases the supplier is handed over to law enforcement agencies and the supplier can even lose his shop. We work together with the executives of these associations to address fraud related cases. This is when the customers on autopartz.com notify us and we subsequently contact the executives of these associations.

We contacted most of the auto parts suppliers through their association's meetings, and we took stock of their inventory when we were physically present in their shops. The others were contacted directly in their shops. We also regularly update the directory in our database with that of the market associations. The remaining 1% of the suppliers in our database registered directly on the www.autopartz.com platform. We audit them and verify their addresses and inventory before allowing them to be contacted on the platform by customers. The suppliers can only contact customers if the customer drops his contact details.
These are some of the steps we have taken to build a trusted database of suppliers free of criminals and kidnappers.

We are currently building a database of dealers of OEM auto parts suppliers in the country with the information we got from our database and from the authorised distributors in the country. This is to counter the other menace bedeviling the auto parts industry, which is that of fake auto parts. This is a scourge that we must all battle together. We temporarily disabled the reviews section of auto parts suppliers and repairers because it was subject to abuse. It would have been a medium to differentiate Belgium tokunbo sellers from auto parts suppliers that would sell over tampered parts(auto parts outside their life cycle) as Belgium tokunbo parts. It's currently being reviewed.

We are open to any expert idea or suggestion on how to improve our processes in order to build a trusted auto parts suppliers and repairers database. This can be via this thread or via info@autopartz.com. We are determined not to make the mistakes some other online marketplaces have made in the past.
We are however grateful that since we became active in this forum, there has been no negative report concerning recommended suppliers.

The ultimate goal as you have rightly mentioned should be sourcing these auto parts and accessories directly to customers that need them. That involves building a trusted logistics structure. We would incorporate that as part of our services as soon as a trusted and reliable structure has been built.
For now, we would make do with linking customers to registered suppliers of the auto parts market associations they belong to. We have covered Ladipo extensively and other major auto clusters in Lagos, while it's partial for now in Abuja and Anambra.
