It is no longer news that the army has lauched operation crocrodile smile to battle militants in the Niger Delta because of Niger Delta oil.

I have read some comments on nairaland that the fulani herdsmen issue is a police affair because the herdsmen have not challenged the state like IPOB or NDA. Even the minister of interrior Dambazau has said that the police can handle the fulani herdsmen.

The question to ask is what has the police been able to do to check these incessant attacks from the fulani herdsmen? Absolutely nothing.

Part of the responsibility of the army is to provide support internally where it is clear that the police cannot handle the situation. How may more innocent Nigerians will be raped/killed before it becomes clear to this government that this herdsmen matter is much beyond the police?

A group does not necessarily have to come out and say 'We want to break away from Nigeria, give us our own country' like IPOB or NDA before you know they have challenged the state; there are may ways to challenge the state. With the way the fulani herdsmen/militia have been going about the MB & South, destroying farmlands, raping women, killing people and sacking communities from their lands, they have clearly challenged the Nigerian state and should be dealt with by the military.

I am still waiting for the army to launch say an operation 'Forest Tiger' to deal decisively with the fulani herdsmen/militia.

Why is this government shielding these demonic fulani herdsmen? Instead of Buhari to protect those that are being raped/killed by the fulani he went to set up a task force to help the herdsmen fight cattle rustlers while the herdsmen are left to continue to wreck havoc everywhere.

There were instances in Plateau state where just after the army went from house to house seizing local weapons from the people, the rampaging fulani herdsmen descended from the hills in the night and wiped out the communities.

In Enugu State, the youths gathered to engage the fulanis only for the military that earlier refused to respond to distress calls to suddenly appear from nowhere and arrested 76 of them. Their relatives had to run around looking for money to set them free.

One thing is crystal clear here, the demonic fulani herdsmen/militia have executive cover.

This is the situation under Buhari.

@OP,
The Fulani herdsmen belong to 97%.
NDA n IPOB are 5%.

Nigeria remains a caricature of African Nations by brutish British slave traders.

as for the messengers of "Allah" called Fulani Herdsmen, we have the right and the responsibility to protect pur lands.

it is a CRIME if we fold our hands...
