Reuben Abati Reveals Biggest Wars Jonathan Fought In Power by dave1614: 1:30pm On Sep 14, 2016 |
Reuben Abati, former media aide to ex- president, Goodluck Jonathan has revealed the two biggest ‘wars’ the erstwhile administration fought while in power just days after ex- First Lady got embroiled in a financial scandal . Abati described every day of facing then opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC) as similar to going to war. Reuben Abati has revealed two big wars Jonathan fought in power. “It was a very political period, with a very vibrant opposition that challenged every little effort by that administration. It was like going to war. Coming out from the warfront, when you get back home, there would be memories, there would be experiences; but at the end of the day, we thank God for the opportunity,” Abatti recalled. Abatti however exalted the latter, saying it was much tougher than the former even though Jonathan was constantly under fire for several months over his inability to rescue the missing Chibok girls for up to a year after they were abducted by Boko Haram insurgents. Former president Goodluck Jonathan fought many wars in power He said: “Well, politics is war by another means. One of the toughest moments was after the deregulation of the downstream sector. You know that marked a turning point for the Jonathan administration in January 2012 when we had Occupy Nigeria’s protest and all that. “And trying to explain something that you would think was very simple to the public and straightforward enough was a problem because the opposition was ahead in imposing a certain prejudice. Ironically, a new administration came in and did exactly the same thing. I think it is something we can interrogate on another level. “The Chibok girls’issue was another turning point. But the very first was the deregulation of the downstream sector. That is what we call it officially, but you call it removal of fuel subsidy.” See what the former president has been up to lately after his many wars in power Goodluck Jonathan’s comment after meeting with 2 former heads of state (photos). http://davesblog.over-blog.com |

To me l think APC cast a spell on Nigerians. Now we have all the reasons to embark on strike but nobody is in a horry to do that. Salaries are being owed for months yet nobody want to stay at home.Petrol, rice, etc is beyong the reach of civil servant yet we only grumble in the back and shout SAI BABA as if all is well. The name Muhamedu Buhari brings so much bad luck to we nigerians. 13 Likes 2 Shares |

How about the wars on poverty, Corruption and under development?those were the wars he ddnt fight that got the 2 other wars waged against him? Same goes for all other leaders including PMB. If you fail to execute the people's war, you will fight your own wars all by yourself. And history has it that such leaders lose their battles and wars. Life is. Constant war between good and evil. 5 Likes |

APC had a well coordinated opposition. What PDP is doing is not opposition politics. What they are doing is irritating. Hauling insults left and right. And Spreading rumours and lies everywhere. They left the work of opposition in the hands of igbo youths. Alienating every day some setions of the country. I don't know if they ever hope to win election with the votes of igbos and south south alone. Hauling insults to the west and north everyday . 3 Likes 1 Share |

azimibraun: There is no spell, it is because the beginning of GMB admin opened up how PDP finished the country to recession, how do you want Nigerians to go on strike when they can see everything boldly, is Buhari a magician ? as long as the militants keep sabotaging the economy in this time of recession, they keepgiving APC an excuse. 1 Like 1 Share |
