DOTUN and Sade had courted for so many years and their intention was to get married and spend the rest of their lives together. They set the plans to do their introduction in motion and everything was going on well, they were not in a rush to become husband and wife so they planned steadily.

After their introduction ceremony, they fixed the wedding date some six months after.

Dotun’s work was always taking him out of town and sometimes he would spend days and even weeks before he came to visit Sade, but she was never bothered knowing that he was working for their good.

Four months to their wedding, Dotun was promoted in his workplace and his boss told him there were clear indications that he would likely be sent abroad for some years for the promotion of the company.

This news was a mixture of joy and sadness to Sade, but she loved Dotun so much that she accepted to wait for Dotun to ruturn before tying the nuptial knot. But Dotun insisted that they should get married before he left.
Sade’s mother was not comfortable with the idea and she persuaded her that such could lead spell doom and that Dotun could end up not coming back for her.

She believed it was better that she stayed single and wait for him so that, if he eventually failed to turn up, she could easily go for another suitor.

‘You can’t trust these men, this is a means of tieing you down, while they will go ahead with their own lives,’she said.

Sade wanted to yield to her mother’s advice but she thought she knew Dotun better than her mother. After all, it was just for two years.

After so much arguments, Dotun and Sade got their dreams actualised and they got married some months earlier than was planned.
