We all know him as African China but his real names are Chinagorom Onuoha and his no doubt a musical legend who has in his own way contributed to the growth of the our entertainment industry. The China in his name is actually an acronym for African Children Have Ideas Natural for African. African China started his music career in 1985 at the age of seven and went fully into music at the age of 18 in 1996, after completing secondary school. He received his first award at the Nigerian International Song Festival before releasing his debut album: 'Crisis' that later went on to win many more awards like: Best Reggae/ Reggae dancehall at the Fanta Fame musical award, 2003 merit award, Unification Peace Award from the OPC, 1st Nigerian Entertainment award and more.

Like most artist China has had his own fair share of controversies. He was accused of rape in UK over ten years ago which he survived. There has been many speculations of African China going bankrupt especially due to the alleged flop of his album titled “E Get As Body Dey Do Me” . This they said forced China to open a hair salon known as Chyna Town Unisex Beauty Salon in Festac, Lagos. China was in the news this week for sharing on social media an image of foreign currency, jewelery and a cover of his old album with the caption read: "#Statement...Talk less and do more."
