KNOW YOUR LIMIT

Memorise : For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. - Romans 12:3

Read: Romans 12:3-10

12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

12:4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:

12:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

12:6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;

12:7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;

12:8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

12:9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

12:10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

MESSAGE :

The common saying that no man is an island comes to play in a very strong way here. The meaning of the title 'Know Your Limit' as explained in the memory verse for today can only be understood in the light of Biblical doctrine. Theology is a big word that simply means the study of God; it is an indispensable part of spiritual learning. Divine truths are closely related to each other, and cannot be viewed in their right proportions or taught rightly except in their mutual connection. God inspired several individuals in the writing of the Bible, there is no book of the Bible that is complete in itself, each one depends on others to give complete knowledge of an aspect of Biblical Doctrine.

Some tell the beginning, while others tell the middle or tail end of the story. For example, the doctrine of salvation, baptism, communion, divine healing, sin and the second coming of Jesus, cannot be fully understood by reading any one book of the Bible. This is the reason why 1 Corinthians 2:13 says:

"Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual."

Therefore, in order for us to remain in tune with the Holy Ghost, we as Christians must be conscious of our limitations as human beings. First, we only know in part, our knowledge of anything is at best partial or subjective and dependent on available information. We must therefore acknowledge the general human limitations and our individual limitations in accordance with the mighty knowledge of God. This is the only way to remain humble and teachable, the only way to focus on the Spirit of the Word always, rather than the letter which kills (2 Corinthians 3:6).

This is the only way to be "approved unto God" and to "rightly divide the word of truth." Note that the study of any particular Bible truth in isolation, without considering its relations to other Bible truths, is a common cause of narrowness which frequently produces heresy.

PRAYER POINT :
Father, please help me to know my limits and be focused on the Spirit in Jesus' name.

RCCG SUNDAY SCHOOL STUDENTS MANUAL
( LESSON THREE)
Sunday 18th Sept 2016.

TOPIC: ONLY ONE GOD

MEMORY VERSE: " For thou art great and doest wondrous things, thou art God alone" Psalm 86:10

BIBLE PASSAGE: Isaiah 43:10-15

INTRODUCTION:
The name of "GOD", the derivation of which is uncertain, we give to the eternal, infinite, perfect, and incomprehensive Being, the Creator of all things who preserves and governs all by His almighty power and wisdom, and is the only proper object of worship. The proper Hebrew name for God is' JEHOVAH', which signifies 'He is'. Hence, there is no one else besides our God.

LESSON OUTLINES
1. Only one God
2. Idolatry is terribly dangerous

ONLY ONE GOD
The infallible scriptures confirm that there is only one God, great and marvellous in His deeds (Psalm 86:9-10; Deut 6:4; 32:39). He is a fulfiller of promises, doing exceeding abundantly (Ephesians 3:20; 2Corinthians 9:cool.is able to subdue all things and keep His own to the very end (Hebrew 7:25; Jude 24). He is full of compassion, long suffering, plenteous in mercy, truth, surest counsels (Psalm 86:15; and favour (Genesis 4:6-8; Luke 1:30). He is omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient (Luke 1:37; Psalm 115:3; 139:7-13; 147:5) and sovereign (Psalm 29:10; Daniel 2:20-22).

IDOLATRY IS TERRIBLY DANGEROUS
Idolatry is simply the worship of a physical object as a god or immoderate attachment or devotion to something. As far as God is concerned, this is a sinful act and it is forbidden and very dangerous to do so too (Exo 20:4; Lev 26:1; Deut 11:16; Isaiah 42:8; 1John 5:21). There are numerous such gods mentioned by various names in the days of the Bible and in many nations and traditions of the world today. Ashtaroth, Baal, Baalpeor, Chemosh, Dagon Diana and Molech (Judges 2:13; 1Kings 16:32; Numbers 25:3; 2Kings 22: 3: 1Sam 5:2; Acts 19:24). Some have worshiped heavenly bodies, devil etc. (Deut 4:19; Hosea 4:19; 3:4). Unlike the Almighty God who is full of life, idols are inactive, perishable, helpless, highly degrading and therefore, unworthy of worship (Deut 4:28; Jeremiah 10:5; Acts 17:29; Romans 1:22-23).

CONCLUSION
Acknowledging God as the Almighty and the only true one undoubtedly qualifies a Christian life that operates in the miraculous. It is therefore, wise to do so now knowing full well that God will not share His glory with another, yet He needs a body to manifest and express Himself.

QUESTIONS:
1. Justify with scriptures that there is only one God
2. How is idolatry dangerous?

AlfaSeltzer:
Satan, may your wisdom prevail.

Accept Jesus Christ into your life.
Life without Christ is a life filled with crisis.
Mathematicians say LIFE is like a line segment drawn from point B to point D.
What is point B to point D?
It's from point of Birth(B) to point of Death(D).
So life starts from the moment we are Born(B) until the day we Die(D).

But in the middle of B(Birth) and D(Death) is a mysterious C.
What is C then?It is CHRIST.
If we put Christ in the middle of our life(Birth--->Christ--->Death) our life will not end at D but extend to E.
What is E? It's Eternal Life.
So all those who put Christ in the middle of their life have Eternal life after Death
But those who do not put Christ in the middle of their lives don't have Eternal life after Death but they have F(Fire).

Definition of Life For Christians:

B------->C------->grin------->E
Birth Christ Death Eternal Life

Definition Of Life For Unbelievers:

B------->grin------->F
Birth Death Fire

Any one that avoids C must surely lose E

For scriptural references, please check the following

1John 5:11-13 Acts 4:12 John 5:34 Rom 10:1 John 3:16 & 17 Rev 20:11-15

There's always blessing in sharing.... so share with others. He that winneth a soul is wise!!!GOD bless you!!
