The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State yesterday expressed readiness to mobilize the youths of the state to vote against Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, governorship candidate of the PDP, due to what it described as his alleged plot to hand over the treasury of the state to the Igbinedion family.
Speaking to journalists yesterday, the state youth leader of the APC, Comrade Osakpanwa Eriyo, said “The recent comment by Ize-Iyamu that he will make the birthday of the Esama of Benin, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion a state event has exposed the plans of the god fathers to mortgage the future of our state.

“Our youths will not allow that to happen and that is why we are telling everybody that they must not vote for PDP because it is the same cabal that shared our money for 10 years, destroyed our industries and milked the treasury, that are trying to come back through the back door. If for instance as he said Esama’s birthday is made a state event, is it not the tax payers money that they are going to use?
That will be returning us to Egypt and God forbid. Governor Oshiomhole has proved that Edo state can work, that the poor can be heard, that development must come and we all must follow the light. Godwin Obaseki will continue the developmental strides and he will not use our money to celebrate birthday for one person like Ize-Iyamu will do.

“Ize-Iyamu and his god fathers destroyed this state and we cannot allow such people to return to power in Edo. And that is why we are mobilizing our youths across the state because this has to do with our future, to ensure that they punish PDP with their votes. These people only take care of their class of rich people, they don’t care about many of us. So we will ensure victory for APC and we are advising the PDP not to attempt rigging the election with their militants they brought into the state because we are going to resist any attempt to rig the polls” he declared.

We the true people of edo state can never and will never allow Ize Iyamu to become our Governor.

This is a man who was caught on video two weeks ago saying he will make Igbinedion Birthday state event.

Meaning he will be using state fund to sponsor igbinedion private birthday. That video has already gone viral in edo state. The video clearly confirm edo peoples fear.

If you reside in Benin, people dont want to hear anything about igbinedion. With dat video currently being shown daily in edo state, Obaseki has already won.

The only campaingn PDP is using is d current hardship. The weakness in d hardship argument is dat it is a national issue and not a state isssue. There is hardship in delta state, rivers state, enugu state, ekiti state, Taraba state, Gombe state with PDP Governors. So also is hardship in APC states. Whether PDP or APC wins edo election, the price of rice in edo state wont change because of who won d election.

APC will win this election with atleast 55% of d votes.

If your argument is that PDP didn't do any better when they were in-charge in Edo,this an opportunity to let them correct themselves and for you to prove that the power to elect and remove lie in your hands. Let me get this straight: are you saying that Adams is doing well presently as the governor of Edo state? How would you rate his performance thus far (in Nigerian standard,obviously)? Do you think he's one of the best 10 governors in Nigeria?

For one of the top three most indebted states in Nigeria with very poor infrastructure and economic power, I can't see how oshiomhole has been a better steward of Edo state treasury.
He who comes to equity, must come with clean hands.

The issue is dat Edo people have just two choice.

Oshiomole sponsored Candidate Vs Igbinedion Sponsored Candidate.

Between Oshiomole and Igbinedion as both Governor of Edo state, Oshiomole trash Igbinedion by a large margin. Edo state of 2008 to 2016 under Oshiomole is better than edo state of 1999 to 2008 under Igbinedion.

That makes d decision very easy.

And Obaseki want to hand it over to Oshomhole. Politicians are a very funny lot. The APC chairman in Edo state was a commissioner in Igbinedion govt. The same Igbinedion family sponsored Oshomhole in 2007. Then the Igbinedion family were saints. Now that they are sponsoring Ize- Iyamu, they have become demon. Edo are wiser. Come next Wednesday, we shall all troop out to vote in Iyamu. The wool had fallen from our eyes.

I watched a video where ize iyamu said God willing when I become governor this time next year the state will sponsor your birthday. He said this on the eleventh of September at the residence of chief Igbinedion. The video is on YouTube
