I saw some people trying to do N20 for 20gb and I just laughed, knowing it was probably a glitch/a way for mtn to make free 20 naira from millions of greedy Nigerians grin

There are cheaper plans like this one, all you have to have is a registered MTN Sim and a 3G enabled smartphone.
I don't know if anyone else has already posted this but I discovered it yesterday after subscribing for the 3.5gb and downloading like crazy, only to see that my data plan has not been touched, and I was using the bonus. I tried it on my sister's phone and it didn't work, so i did a google search.
Its called the MTN Kpalasa upgrade plan or something like that. So if you're using kpalasa like Nokia Asha or all those Chinco phones, you better go get a smartphone grin

-Make sure your data is 3G enabled for it to work. That's why it didn't work on my sister's phone. If you're using a double SIM phone make sure the data connection is on the MTN SIM and 3G is enabled in settings. Then subscribe to any plan and you'll get double just like that.

I just subscribed for the the 5k plan and got 20gb. See the screenshot:

Yeah. And set it to 3G enabled. It has to be 3G so their system will recognise it as a smartphone

Maybe you should read the op again. As long as you have a smartphone, just switch on your data and enable 3G then subscribe normally and you'll get double the amount.

To buy MTN internet data with a 30-day activation on a 3G enabled smartphone, all you need to do is dial *131# and select 1 (buy data plans) and then select 3 (monthly plans). You'll get your regular data volume plus an additional device bonus.

I have been enjoying this plan, but I tweaked my phone IMEI and it appeared as if I bought a new smartphone and a new registered sim.
