Iseoluwani: And you got likes for this? Unbelievable. Let me guess; when you were growing up, your dad told you that you must get good grades so you can win prizes. Guy, you go to school for you and only you. No one plans to graduate and "win" a prize for doing well in school. Poverty no go kill una mentality completely for Nigeria. 1 Like |

Bollinger: And you were like oh u are talking sense. they wanted to celebrate them and gave them 50k, for what are they beggars. Let them keep their money. Scholarships them no give. Better money babu. Check advanced countries and see how they celebrate their best product. But Africa and Nigeria especially celebrate mediocrity. When it comes to beauty pageant millions will be given. Mtn project fame, the last winner go 5million. And education deserve 50k not even 500k and u are busy ranting. Aboki, face me and never insult or drag my parent am a Yoruba boy that respects my parent.

Iseoluwani: See your thought process? I love how Nigerians love to just justify their poverty mentality. You are not supposed to get a reward for graduating because you graduate for you and only you. If they do decide to give you anything for it, you take it and move on. I understand that hunger has a way of affecting how people think but Nigeria's case is becoming an epidemic. 2 Likes |

Bollinger: and you are fuming the rich guy uh. Do u fink everybody on nairaland is 'ebina' rich people stay rich because they don't make noise while for the poor, they are noise makers. Arguing with you will not add value to me Titus 3:9 ESV:But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless. You were so trained that you dragged one's father in an argument, that shows your class. Defense mechanism. |

Complainants, what are you guys complaining about this time? See lemme tell you, 50k in the hands of a wise person can become 1 billion tomorrow. But 1 billion in the hands of a foolish person can become 50k tomorrow. These graduates are smart. Book smart. And that's okay. But are these same guys financially smart? That's the challenge this 50k poses to them now. |

Iseoluwani: Again your thought process. Nowhere have i said i was rich nor affluent. That is your complex talking. So me telling you how you should think and do things the right way is means i am "forming", whatever that means. You guys just love to justify the insane. Unbelievable. Smh. I really don't blame you though. I blame poverty. |

Re: Five Best Graduating Students Across Nigerian Universities Awarded With Largesse by Bollinger(m): 11:11am On Sep 29, 2016 |
Iseoluwani: Guy, it is not that it is too small, but that they should not be given anything but their certificate. The prize for an education is knowledge in itself. Knowledge with which you can do the incredible and the impossible. When your motivation for graduating is to win prizes, you become distorted in your priorities. Don't let hunger turn you to something else. The quest for money has mutilated your way of thinking. Smh 1 Like |

handsomeclouds: correct me if i'm wrong, but in advanced "not-useless" countries do they hand out cash prizes to students for good performance? are the students not the primary beneficiaries of their own good results? so why do they need another reward for that? 1 Like |

oluwafreshkid: Let me help you with that Project fame is sponsored by mtn meaning mtn gets more adverts on their company and products the more people who register for the competition, watch it and vote and that's more money for the company. You think entertainment is a waste of time, go and ask how much Hollywood has done for the gdp and development of California and America as a whole, Question : who those guys certificate help? Themselves and their families There was a man called prince Reiner of Monaco, at the time of his assumption to the throne of the principality of a Monaco wasn't even known around the world and there was a threat by Italy to annex it in a few years. Solution = prince Reiner marries a famous Hollywood actress grace Kelly and the wedding alone was viewed by millions then people started visiting Monaco, casinos started springing up, people started investing and today we have Monaco one best tourist destinations In the world Guys like olamide, wizkid Davido, and Co do you know how many families are been fed and taking from poverty just by them singing "loud thrashy music " as nigerians would scream If Nigerian government can invest in entertainment immensely you know how much would be made and could possibly be channeled into education Don't worry even if we 1 billion entertainers we would still have the efikos who would make us proud with good grades because some people can't do without studying. So the growth of the entertainment industry wouldn't send quality education into oblivion. 3 Likes |

Bollinger: inasmuch as I wish to be successful in life, it doesn't get in my thinking. Yes we Know the prize for education is knowledge, those guys didn't start their program because of the money. The organization decided to appreciate them but when you are appreciating someone like he is begging from you. Give them something tangible. Whatever you are doing do it well. Need not to say what they did was publicity stunt, using them to promote their brand, so wake up |

Re: Five Best Graduating Students Across Nigerian Universities Awarded With Largesse by Bollinger(m): 11:57am On Sep 29, 2016 |
Iseoluwani: Lol. Your argument does not support your thought process. You know that knowledge is it's own reward and yet you are vehemently fighting to be paid for graduating. Really. Since you know that graduating is it's own reward why are you complaining of the prize if you were not expecting it. How do you think for God's sake? |
Re: Five Best Graduating Students Across Nigerian Universities Awarded With Largesse by Iseoluwani: 12:10pm On Sep 29, 2016 |
Bollinger: like you just heard that word. If you will give me prize for excelling don't gimme something that's ridicules my personality. Looks like u studied psychology but your argument looks awful. You are thinking like someone that needs to go back to school. I don't have time. Am done with you. 50k 4 your level. Am more than that. |
Re: Five Best Graduating Students Across Nigerian Universities Awarded With Largesse by oluwafreshkid(m): 12:21pm On Sep 29, 2016 |
UIA04:I don't dispute any of what you've said. However, even the Hollywood ain't contributing a quarter to the US gdp. On who their certificate helps... we'll it's typical for us to say that sinc th aren't creating buzz through their education. But note that education has helped the world much more than entertainment has. And don't worry, a little more boost in the education system won't take the shine of entertainment |
Re: Five Best Graduating Students Across Nigerian Universities Awarded With Largesse by Bollinger(m): 12:22pm On Sep 29, 2016 |
Iseoluwani: Yes i use "thought process" in all my arguments with Nigerians. You know why? Because that is the major problem in the country. Most of you don't think like normal human beings. Your thought process is flawed. What is unheard of in normal countries is absolutely normal in Nigeria. This is why most of you think it is normal to dump refuse in the gutter, or burn a suspect in the streets, or a policeman confidently and unashamedly collecting bribe publicly. You all think it is normal and business as usual. This is why you think it is normal to get a prize for graduating. And MSU would disagree with you that i need to go back to school. |
Re: Five Best Graduating Students Across Nigerian Universities Awarded With Largesse by Onyiridike(f): 12:35pm On Sep 29, 2016 |
Bollinger: I don't want to believe that you hate education. Probably, you could not make good grades in school and you now vent your anger on those who have achieved what you couldnot achieve. Well, a prize means a reward for hardwork. It serves to encourage others. If you can reward a model with millions simply because she is beautiful, how much are you supposed to reward a brilliant graduate who sacrificed a lot and put in so much time to achieve academic excellence. The food you eat, the phone you are using, the house you live in, the drug you take, the medical treatment you receive, the television, your clothes, your cream, the pure water, the good roads, electricity, the money you spend, among others are products of education (science and technology). How do you reward people who are making effort to improve our standard of living by generating ideas and concepts? This your mind-set is why Nigeria will never move forward. For your information, the money USA budget for scientific research is more than the budget of ALL African countries put together. However, in Nigeria, N14,000,000 will be given to 2-Face for performing say during independence while N20,000 is given to professors as research grant. You think that live is all about money? Do you design a drug with money or knowlege? Does a doctor treat you with money or knowledge? Do mechanical engineers design car with money or knowlege? If all the scientist in the world refuse to work, 40% of the world will die in a matter of months even if you break world bank. |
