The award prize,established in 2003 by Italian newspaper TUTTOSPORT and being voted for by a panel of journalists from around the continent,is awarded to young stars below the age of 21 who has the most impressive performance over a calender year.
Manchester United and England striker Rashford(Marcus) is among the 40 man list for the award,along with Alex(Iwobi),Dele Alli of Tottenham, manchester city's Leroy sane,SANCHES(Renato) and co-team mate Kingsley(Coman) who featured for France at the 2016 Euro.Manchester city duo Iheanacho(Kelechi) and Real Madrid's starlet marco asensio were not missing in the list.
Anthony Martial won the award last year following successes from Paul Pogba and Raheem Starling in 2013 and 2014 respectively.
Cristiano Ronaldo never claimed the award while Wayne Rooney took the honour in 2004 and next Lionel Messi in 2005.
