BEIJING (Reuters) – A year before a Communist Party conclave that could decide who will eventually replace him as China’s next leader, President Xi Jinping is maneuvering to reduce the power of a rival political bloc while seeking to get members of his own faction onto the country’s top ruling body, according to three sources with ties to the leadership.

And the third world curse for political supremacy strikes a promising nation, same with Russia. One of the reasons why America would always be ahead of its rivals.
America has perfected democracy and the rule of law.

I respect u opinion.

But I do not think this is 'political supremacy' as u have termed it. Instead, in a communist Government, like in China, this is preservation of the right political ideology. China, having gone steps further from core Communism, would be difficult for 'new breed', with no ideal of how the current system work, to govern. And I think that's what President Xi is simply trying to prevent.
