Today Is Independence Day, Is it worth celebrating? by Ihavespoken: 7:19pm On Sep 30, 2016 |
Just as today is independence day, I was thinking what your plans would be. Are you going to celebrate? What exactly are you celebrating? Is it worth celebrating? Do you have money to celebrate? Finally, Is being Independent working? There are too many questions on my mind but I would like to know your answer to any question of your choice. Cc Mynd44 OAM4J |

It seems Nigeria was better of colonised and not independent . how a country that got independence on a platter of gold from another country is stopping the independence of another country for her is Blatant hypocrisy and madness. |

No need for a fresh comment, I'd quote myself from last year. We celebrate the fact we dodged a situation whereby to get jobs you'd've to look almost as lightskinned as caucasians as well as have european features. We celebrate the fact that rather than get beat up for educating ourselves we are able to amass as much knowledge to put us on the same level as the whiteman. We celebrate the fact that rather than 80% of our resources whether crude oil, foodstuff, manpower and precious stones go to foreign colonialists, we are able to enjoy them for ourselves albeit facing the reality of corruption in the environment. On how I'd celebrate tomorrow Back in the days parents used to buy a chicken, ram or cow for celebration but nowadays it just passes like every other day. The happiness is still there we achieved independence but meh, no time to celebrate. Might try hanging out with friends over a few drinks just to break monotony. |
