But what caused the inflammation?
Was it from toxins? Or viruses? Or was the inflammation part of a syndrome Or etc.....
I assume that's one of the things they want to find out from the autopsy

How sad,if a man of kind will still be allowed to go through this mess @ luth ,then u can imagine what d common man will go through.
Last month my grandmother was referred there after being diagnosed of Colon Cancer it took them about 24hrs to get the old woman a bed space aside the to and fro staircase climbing. Sadly she died about 3days later. Sometimes I just think of leaving this country for good.

Don't even advise ur enemy to go to LUTH to seek medical attention

I lost my daughter to the same inflammation of the liver. BMH Port Harcourt was just running the same test. Each Doctor that was on duty would run the same test his predecessor ran. I weep for my daughter because she suffered in the hands of Doctors.
Public Doctors don't show emotion and they really don't care.
May God help our health system.

I quite agree with you bro. He had a choice of a private hospital but he chose a government hospital even with all their antecedents. May the boy's soul rest in peace.

it is true that before u can take a patient out for test a letter/aoppliocation needs to be written to CMAC , Admin. Dept .i believe this causes deaths that are ordinarily avoidable

As much as it pains me for what this man went through, it pains me more that he did not SUE the hell out of them. That lawyer did not advice him well. Something like this, after bringing an action in civil suit against the hospital, then you can bring an action in criminal suit against the staffs individually.

This won't bring back his son but it sure as hell won't let the hospital off the hook either.

So who are you recommending he sues and on what grounds?
He can't sue the doctors, they are not responsible for supplying fuel
He can't sue the security man he will claim it's not his job to provide fuel or he left his duty post as he hasn't been paid for months
A liver scan is a diagnostic test and not a therapy so how will it make a difference in the long run

Sounds like he had fulminant hepatitis. Liver failure requires expert supportive treatment and that is simply not available in Nigeria.

Even if he had light 24-7, blood transfusion and fluids it's all up to specialist care the the recovery ability of the liver if recovery is to be a possibility.

That's why I don't blame rich people taking their families abroad for treatment, because they know that their family will receive the best treatment over there. Going to nigeria public hospital is like death sentence.
